I ended up with 29.
I am missing the majority of the obscure titles as well as Earthbound and Mario RPG.
Lufia, FF, and Breath of fire are where most of my points came from.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Ended up with a 32.

According to your article:
-------------------------------
Super Underrated
-------------------------------
Uncharted Waters 2: New Horizons
Shadowrun
-------------------------------
Partially Underrated
-------------------------------
Inindo: Way of the Ninja
Lagoon
----------
Opinions aside, how do you justify rating our supposed SNES RPG mastery by your opinions of those games? There's no real basis for whatever results you receive other than "GP probably thinks you know <relative qualifying statement based on your score> about SNES RPGs."

I got 40 for a score. Ry's right though, there is no correlation that I can see between your score and RPG mastery. The data is all based on opinion.

Why I am seeing a subject entitled "SNES RPG Helper" in the General forum? I feel like there's a more appropriate forum for this. Like say, oh I don't know... THE FUCKING VIDEO GAME FORUM?
Or at the very least, Feedback.

With the exception of Drakkhen and Ultima 6, I agreed entirely with your list.
My score: 32

You are 100% correct that there is a degree of subjectivity.
However, I haven't played all of these games, so I definitely relied on the help of others to assist me on rating.
The idea wasn't to give these games a score as a normal review would, rather it was to try and help people select some games and have pause before playing games that as far as I can tell received medium or negative review.
As for the total score output, I do think that a weighted number based on playing the games we ALL talk about on a regular basis is a good idea. On these forums people discuss games all the time. The games rated highest are the ones that would allow someone to fit in to most of the discussions we have now. Subjectively accurate? If such a term exists... I think so.
I am not above changing a score if enough people think I made a mistake. Just be try to be fair about the accusations. If the game really didn't get great reception and most people wouldn't love it... well... it is OK for an individual to enjoy it, but perhaps it doesn't deserve a recommendation.

Sorry Syd.
Would you or another moderator be so kind as to please move it for me?

New Horizons should be a 4, and you should be ashamed of yourself!

I got a 49. I think Paladin's Quest should at least be a 2 though. I find it to be a really awesome game.

Personally, I liked UW 1 better than New Horizons, but I guess that's just me. They both deserve a 2 or 3

Where's Final Fantasy V?
As for my score, Secret of Mana got me a 3.

Good point. Does Famicom even count? Or are we all being prejudiced now?

That was made well over a year and a half ago, I can find the IRC chat logs for you if you want to see the discussion and those who were involved in deciding how much each game would be worth.

Only if you translate it into Latin and do an audio recording of said translation set to some serious thrash. Otherwise, it's too easy

You try digging through a 91 mb text file for a specific couple of hours worth of text while only half remembering what was said nearly 22 months ago and tell me it's easy.
