I don't celebrate Christmas, but because the holiday is a day off for most people, my wife's family gathered for a nice meal and with the intentions of cleaning out my mother-in-law's basement.

While digging through piles of old crap, I found this gem and was told that it was mine to keep.

Yeah, I am pretty pumped. I took more photos and will make a dedicated thread for it some time soon.

My wife and I were able to grab a large number of 80's board games that had been boxed up for 20 years or so. If I come across any other wonders, I'll be sure to share.

Oh one of the other cool things that we were not allowed to take was a boxed Scrabble set made in 1948.

My parents got me a Kindle which I have wanted for awhile! But then I went to Amazon.com to get some ebooks they're a rip off! The ebook is usually only $1-2 less than the actually book. If its $5 for an ebook and $6 for the actual book I'm just gonna buy the real book. I guess I just expected ebook stores to be like mp3 stores... $0.99 each. I should've done my homework.

Think of it this way. It is 99 cents for a song. It is 6-7 bucks for an album. A book is more like an album than a song, because the chapters would be more like the songs. For the most part the paperbacks are going to be right around the same price as they are in stores, because paperbacks are cheap as hell to get. I just bought a new release book that is 30 bucks at Barnes and Noble for 12.99 on my Kindle. Also the Kindle takes up a fraction of the space that my bookshelves do and I can carry a ton of books with me at once. This is nice because I just bought that book and I finished it after about 5 hours reading, and now rather than having two or three more taking up space in my backpack I can just hit home and have 60 more books ready for me to read them.

I gotttt:

Supernatural season 2 (!! Very Happy!)
Tomb Raider: Underworld for the PS3 (unffff)
A couple stuffed animals, including this panda pillow I've been wanting
Jasmine-scented bath stuff
New bras, panties, slippers, bathrobe, and socks
Black Labrador 2011 calendar
Jewelry (some earrings, a couple bracelets)
Keychains and little knick-knacks for my room (including a pooping mouse what Neutral)
aaaaand $100, with which to buy ME2 for the PS3 next month, along with some other goodies Very Happy

All in all, a pretty decent Christmas. Not a whole lot of stuff I was really excited about, but then again I didn't really want anything I was super excited about... except for ME2 and a few other games that don't come out til next year, so there's not a lot my mom could work with there.

Was the breathalyzer a gift from the heart, or by court order?

It was a gag gift because of my DUI. Its basically a "Drunk" or "Not Drunk" reading. If it wasn't from my grandma I would have been mad.

I was a big Cincy fan today, and they delivered. Knocked the Chargers out so my Chiefs clinched the AFC West. Now they can have a week to rest up.

Thank you, Bengals!

Since my birthday's a week before Christmas, I'm posting for both

* $25 Best Buy gift card (yay)
* $25 Applebees gift card (free food is fine, but god help you if you ask me "pink or no pink" with my beef)
* $20 "Ultimate Game Card" (basically $20 toward stuff like Runescape, an asston of facebook stuff like Zynga runs etc. I have no use for this and a friend is willing to swap it for a 2,000 Nintendo points card)
* A black, hand-knit cap (useful since I decided to get myself a crew cut in December).
* City of Heroes: Going Rogue Complete Collection and a two month time card (I'm paid up until March 21st)
* Mega Man E-Tank coffee mug off thinkgeek.com
* A White Christmas. We got around 8 inches of snow. The last time Georgia had a Christmas snow was in 1882 (only .3 inches at that).
* And 5 pending presents.

Promethean: The Created hardcover (I've seen a softcover one before, weirdly enough)
90$ in dimes (after going to CoinStar yesterday)
A three hundred dollar car payment covered by my grandma-in-law
Some pajama pants that're really soft

Far, far better than a kick in the ass

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

It snowed here in Jacksonville, FL yesterday. Obviously not enought to stick, but it was falling. Been in FL for 24 years and its the first time I've seen it snow here.

* Sweet Child O' Mine single on 45
* New Vegas
* Left 4 Dead
* Left 4 Dead 2
* Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock
* Halo: Reach
* Sweet Thing's debut album
* How I Met Your Mother Season 5
* Grey's Anatomy Season 6
* bandana, candy, toothbrush, and other random shit from my sister

Oh and I got chest pains that put me in the hospital. Besides coming out looking like the 40 Year Old Virgin (fucking ECG), the doc ruled out any life threatening heart, blood, or lung issues. Most likely an extreme chest cold/flu/virus.

How come everyone gets socks? I have never once in my life gotten socks for Christmas.

I did get towels one year, but that's besides the point.
