I've seen quite a few different posts where people talk about their sleep habits, but I'm curious as to what the forum community at large does. Be as detailed as you like.
Personally, I prefer to:
a) sleep in complete darkness
b) have a sheet and comforter pulled up to my chin
c) have a fan blowing on my face, not oscillating.
Usually I fall asleep on my side facing the fan. Sometimes I roll over before falling asleep. I will rarely sleep in the prone position with my arms under the pillow, and almost never sleep on my back.

I thrash around a lot in my sleep, so I need a big bed to avoid kicking the girlfriend. Her bed is smaller, but her place is way nicer, so she gets kicked more. Gonna have to bring my bed when I move in I guess.
Sometimes I like to listen to music, but not always.
Don't need a fan, but some sort of drink like water or juice on the night stand is mandatory.
I like flipping the pillow to sleep on the cool side, but that's everyone right?
Default sleeping scenario used to be a drunken heap, but I'm slowly being cured of that affliction... so that's a lot less common now a days, hoping to eradicate it completely soon.

I like to it to be fucking COLD in my room. Fans and A/C dropped like crazy. I can't stand being hot and trying to sleep.
With that said, I then have the blanket up to my chin/neck.
Usually have the TV on and fall asleep with some form of movie/show.

I am a terrible insomniac, I usually do not find my way to sleep until 3-6 am.
I am not too picky honestly how or where I sleep (I do prefer the bed).

I'll second that, being cold is fine, pile on more blankets / put on a sweater / whatever, being too hot sucks, because your only three options are:
1. get naked (which may not cool you off)
2. Stick your head in the freezer (if you don't have AC like me, and negates any sleeping because you're fucking awake now)
3.Kill yourself to end the suffering, or sleep in a tub of cold water and risk killing yourself accidentally...
Fuck I need air conditioning!

Heh, we have AC but are far too cheap to really run it in the Summer.
I always thought the same logic, the cold is fine as you can always add layers. When it's hot, you can only get /so/ naked.

Sleeping in a tub of cold water didn't work, there's something in the back of your brain that won't let you sleep in water even if the water isn't deep enough to possibly drown in. Fucking survival mechanisms!

Once upon a time, I used to sleep on my back, with my arms folded over my torso, coffin-style.
Then Fig told me about how he likes to sleep on his stomach, with his arms tucked under himself.
I tried it out, and it's so much more comfortable than coffin-style. But, after some experimentation, I found that the best way for me to sleep is to sleep on my left side, with my left arm tucked under the pillow where my head rests, and my right arm bent next to me, with a thin pillow tucked in the bend of my right arm.

Also this, except switch all lefts, to rights, and right to left.

I have strange sleeping habits, I just kinda go until I drop because I can't sleep thanks to a mixture of insomnia and pain. Usually 3-7 am is when I hit the wall, but sometimes I can go 24-36 hours before I feel tired enough to sleep. I also take Vicodin when I'm going to bed because it helps with the pain. Though recently it has started giving me some messed up dreams that I wake up from freaked out but can't recall why. I usually sleep on one side or the other depending on which side makes my legs and back hurt less. My bed is ridiculously uncomfortable because it is in college housing, so that isn't helping either. I'm lucky to sleep maybe 5 hours a night until I'm so exhausted I sleep for 14 hours straight lol.

Bull shit. I fell asleep in the tub all the time.
On another note, anyone who complains about the cold is WIMPEH. I almost literally sleep outside--in a shed with zero insulation and no space heater. And it never bothered me too much, despite waking up with close to a frost bitten nose a few times.

I prefer the cold as well. I can't sleep when I'm too hot.
I sleep naked, blanket under one arm and the other one beneath a pillow. I sleep on either side and sometimes on my stomach. I love almost all my dreams, so I'm usually angry when I wake up and end them.

I sleep on my stomach in the dark, with my face turned to the left. I wrap myself really tightly in a blanket, too. I like to be kind of smothered.

I have to sleep on my stomach with a pillow over my head usually, leg throw outward on whatever side I have my head turned to.

Like Atma, I cannot stand sleeping if I'm hot. It might be the worst feeling I know.

Yep, nice cold room with lots of blankets is my favorite. I like it very dark, but not pitch black...a small crack of light under the door, or a very soft glow from the window is good. Always sleep on my left side, unless I get a crick in my neck or something. I cannot fall asleep on my back.

When would even wind up in a situation for it to be pitch black? Between digital clocks, computer/video game system lights, cell phone chargers, VCR/DVD displays, cable modems, routers, and all the other electronics most of you probably have, I'd imagine you'd be hard pressed to have a truly pitch black room.

Well you could cover, unplug or turn those easily enough I'd expect.

Always on my left. I've been trying to figure out why, but I can't sleep on my right easily.

I go to sleep in a pitch black room with the heat turned up to at least 95 degrees. I set the heat to turn off about 2 hours after the time at which I go to sleep and the have the air conditioning set to go on max right after that. I find that the intense heat helps me get to sleep faster, but I need the cold to not wake up covered in sweat, feeling like shit with a stuffy nose and blocked throat. Sometimes I fall asleep at my computer in my office chair with my eyes open, and that tends to scare the girlfriend. She always thinks I am dead when that happens, heh.

Am I the only one that falls asleep better with the TV on?
I usually sleep on my side though, arm under the pillow. Also, constantly flipping the pillow over and over all night, always trying to find that ever elusive perfectly cold pillow.
