It was hard to choose, the final decision felt between Rikumaru und Sub Zero.
In the end i did vote for Rikimaru because he's really a classic ninja overall but he got those crazy white hair wich make him a kinda weird appearance.
I'm also a big Tenchu fan.

Scorpion is more of the Killer-Typ, Sub Zero more the Hero-Typ. The whole Ninja-thing works to me better if connected to heroism (does that word exist ^^?). Even though real Ninjas were more Killers then Heros. I also like Sub Zeros power more. To rule over ice, that comes close to an god like power if you think of, for example, of the greek mythology. The blue dress is also more of an eyecatcher.

Yeah, i guess that's true. i should have seperated them. but i tried to list only characters from different games. looks more professional.

Ryu Hayabusa, he taught me persistence and how to control my anger. He also cost me about 50 bucks in broken NES controllers.
Edit: Sub Zero is a Scorpio? I changed my vote, I'm a Virgo we are a perfect match!

Actually bite, Scorpion is a hero. After killing the original Sub-Zero thereby avenging the murder of his family (including himself), he became a full-on good guy, eventually being chosen by the Elder Gods as their champion.

Of course I didn't forget about the ninja turtles. I just thought they don't fit in this list that well. But i admit that MGS Ninja and Shreddar should be on that list.
And Altair/Ezio? Come on, neither are they ninjas nor are they masked. Well, anyhow I'm sorry if anybody got disappointed.
I still think that list is very well elaborated. (except for the misspelling in scorpion's name of course  )

Kung Fu is a fighting style, while the Shaolin Monastary's focus is religion. A master of Kung Fu martial arts could be Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, agnostic, atheist, etc. They would not be a Monk, but they would be skilled in the martial art of Kung Fu.
Ninjitsu is a combat system. A master of Ninjitsu would effectively be a ninja. Politically they would not be aligned with historical ninjas, but they would be equally skilled and capable in all aspects of the art as ninjas of old. The only difference would be that person's agenda.
