Basically in the ending, after sonic and robotnik's final confrontation in space, where they both die, Amy and knuckles are seen down on earth, watching the explosion in the sky. Knuckles says something like "looks like robotnik finally got what he wanted for all of these years. It cost him everything." they talk some more and knuckles puts his hat on and they part ways. Knuckles says something like "it can't end like this. I have to at least try. For his sake. He was our hero. Our champion." and leaves, onward to a new adventure. You then see Amy with her hand on her stomach, and she says something like "somehow I feel that this is only the beginning..."
