Enterprise started off okay, but once they started in with the Taliban, I'm sorry SULIBAN bullshit, I got really annoyed and gave up. Specifically, they did a "not all Suliban are evil" episode. Roddenberry was more subtle than that. If he had called them Brussians instead of Klingons, the original show would have never caught on.

I guess they got away from that stuff in the third season, but I had long stopped watching by then.

This I grant. Although the storyline itself was fun, the heavy handedness of the metaphor was just borderline-sickening.

Will still always be my second favorite ST series though.

I do enjoy the work of Scott Bakula. A lot of sci-fi fans apparently don't. My brother's bosses and his former coworker all hated Quantum Leap with a passion.

It may just be nostalgia for me because I remember watching it with my dad when new episodes were still airing, but TNG all the way. TOS was ok but I thought it was really cheesy looking effects wise (and this was coming from a kid who loved Godzilla movies) so I just never developed a love of it. DS9 bored me to tears most of the time and Voyager just kind of felt like TNG with less interesting characters.

Oh. Well I found it funny too.
Especially since DS9 wouldn't be by first choice of ST series that a person would just happen to like without knowing anything else about ST.

I like it.

And I don't think redlettermedia was being facetious. He says it is the one movie that most reflects the show. The rest were hollywooded up and he didn't appreciate it until the last one came out. The original and next gen crews should not be action stars being the ages they are, but make a reboot at an earlier time and it works. Even if it doesn't follow the show.

Again, haven't watched enough Enterprise to rate.

But I read that there was a temporal cold war subplot that sounded really cool. Unfortunately it sounds like they fudged it up on screen. Thoughts?

Wtf. Hating Enterprise I can understand, if not condone. But Quantum Leap? What is there to POSSIBLY hate about Quantum Leap, unless you have no soul?

Yeah, anyone who hates Quantum Leap is a clear sociopath and should be put down.
