Sad times indeed for Hellraiser fans.
Doug Bradley, A.K.A "Pinhead", is not and I repeat is NOT playing his iconic role in this new straight to DVD abortion, marking the franchise's nineth film in 23 years.
Mind you, Dimension Films loses the rights to this franchise after this year so let's hope that a remake/reboot is still in order for Clive Barker's film(s) and if it does happen, Doug Bradley will step in as Pinhead again.
Any thoughts?

This franchise was over after III. None of the others count.

So negative! Hellworld wasn't bad, nor was the IVth one (that's the one with the flashbacks to different time periods, right?). I really wasn't impressed by Deader, but then, who was? And hate to say it, but Bradley is getting kind of old to play a Cennobite, isn't he?

Bradley wasn't asked to be in it, which is bullshit. They figured they could cut costs by hiring someone else.

They have all been shitty since 3, Knyte is correct. And no, Bradley isn't too old to play a non descript bald demon man with massive makeup and pins in his face.

Yea I don't think you can be too old to play a Cenobite. If anything, the ravages of age just add to their tortured visages.

I was just thinking today that they should really have stopped making Hellraiser movies after 2.

What about Chucky Movies? Are they going to further explore his stupid asexual child that was voiced by the dude that played Pippin in The Lord Of The Rings?

Uh, his kid is two human children now. And Tiffany is Jennifer Tilly. And that movie was fantastic.
Child's Play writer/creator Don Mancini (who also directed Seed of Chucky) is currently working on a Child's Play reboot. Brad Dourif will return as Chucky, and the plan is for 2011 release. Filming has not yet begun, though. The reboot will be "darker" and "scarier" than the original film.

Aww, I liked the campy direction they were going, too bad it's getting grittified. I didn't mind Seed of Chucky, I just thought Shitface / Glenda / Glenn was stupid looking.

Oddly enough, that one isn't TOO bad. Sure, horror and sci-fi tend not to mix well, but the Victorian (or whatever era it was) and modern day parts aren't bad. And the space station designed to create constant light to destroy the cenobites once and for all would have been a good ending for the series. If they hadn't gone on to make like five more movies...

That was the last one to get a theatrical release, wasn't it?

Yeah, only four of the eight films were released theatrically.

And let's admit it; three and four barely deserved that. I actually think I like four more than three.
