Okay, here we go again. I'm sure you all heard "The Office" scribes Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg are writing it. So expect the script in three months. Deals to start being made early next year. And a film in 2012, cause this take is also going to meet a ton of roadblocks, I promise.

I heard a bit about that just recently. For the last year or so, I had heard that the game was going to take place of a third movie, but then, like you stated, there's the pure movie idea going around again. I honestly don't know what to think anymore.

Look, I'm going to be very vocal about this: I don't want a Ghostbusters 3 if it doesn't feature the original team and stars Seth Rogen and Steve Carrell. I don't want the Apatow company adopting Ghostbusters. However, I don't mind if the original team aren't the leads. If only Egon, Ray, and Winston return to be mentors fine. Better than nothing. But I don't want the series to break in tone, which I fear the Apatow company would do. I know Rogen and several other actors of the troupe are huge fans of Ghostbusters and don't want to tarnish it either... But something about Rogen in a suit with a proton pack just does not jive with me.

I haven't really cared much for Apatow's movies since 40-Year Old Virgin, except Walk Hard. I actually love Walk Hard to death. I mean, a Sherlock Holmes adaptation with Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell? I'm sorry, but that does not sound appetizing. I'm getting sick of Will Ferrell too.

I don't know about you guys, but Viggo stands out in my mind as one of the scariest mofos I've ever seen in a movie.

Hell, i'd ive it a shot, as long as the original cast is in it. If hollywood is going to shit on something, they might as well do it right.

Who Ya Gonna Call??? Again...

For fans of the Ghostbusters franchise there's great news out of the Windy City this week... Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that not only will he and Bill Murray be returning to the story, there will be some fresh scrubbed comedy faces along for the ride as Ghostbusters 3 gets the green light and is currently in final casting. Shooting begins in May 2011 and the release is set for Christmas 2012. Just in time for the REAL end of the world...

But after 20 years, can the team work up the magic tricks necessary to fulfill the promise of the first two Ghostbusters movies?

According to iFilm, the answer is a resounding 'Yes!'

That's because many of the original players are returning (including Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver and Ivan Reitman) and some younger talent will be strapping on the Proton Packs to do battle with the evil forces unleashed on a blissfully ignorant world.

But seriously. Has there EVER been a successful return after such a long absense? Indiana Jones should be the lead indicator... it totally fell flat. But maybe it was because we couldn't buy in to an Indy who just looked so... old.

The characters of Ghostbusters started showing signs of wear and tear by the second movie so the shock may be milder in a group of comedians who have never been afraid of looking raggedy in the past. It's the SPIRIT of the romp that will get them through... Because, let's face it... AFTER TWO DECADES...

"I ain't afraid of no ghosts!"

Here's a video of Bill Murray in full GB regalia at the Scream Awards...

'Nuff Said...

I don't like the sound of "fresh comedic faces". If it has Steve Carrell or the beard guy from The Hangover, I'm gonna be pissed as fuck.

Yeah, I mean I could see getting excited if it was all of the original people, but if this is gonna have a Judd Apatow stoner comedy vibe I'd rather just sit on a fucking railroad spike.

Uh, The Color Of Money?

Tron Legacy will be a succesful return if there's any justice in this world.

Also, Terminator 3. I know a lot of people here hate it, but these are the facts. It made $433 million, over twice its $200 million budget, and it holds a 70% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That's a success. It's not as big a success as T2, which quintupled its $102 million budget, but it's a success.

Finally, Indy 4 sucked because the movie was poorly written and filled with shitty CGI effects, not because Indy looked old.

Oh wait, one more thing. I hope Harold Ramis loses some weight for this. He's supposed to be Thin Ghostbuster (White Version).

Seriously. And I really don't think any actual person thought Indy 4 was ruined because Harrison Ford looked old. It was ruined because it was a lame cash grab with an icy thin plot, Harrison Ford looked fine.

Also, The Color of Money is absolutely fantastic.

Eh, he did look kind of silly swinging from a whip and barely hanging onto a motorcycle. But yeah, that wasn't why that movie was a disappointment.

I almost could have let it slide if not for that scene where Whatever his stupid name is La Buff was swinging with monkeys through the jungle.

I have high hopes as long as the following people are not in it:

Steve Carrell
Beard guy from Hangover
Michael Cera
Seth Rogen
Ryan Reynolds
Tina Fey
Jimmy Fallon
Will Farrell
Amy Poehler
Owen Wilson

I think that covers everyone for now.

bah. you guys are my stablemates, yet you're so retarded.

some of those people on your list would be hilarious as ghostbusters, sideways. you DO know that these people can act outside of their defined roles, right?

this reminds me of the NOES argument where syd complained that freddy was innocent and they fucked up the rhyme.

Have ever heard of probability? Thats a mechanism attached to logic. People use logic to foresee events. And i rely on probability, as logic thinking person and foresee IF one of those actors should take part in ghostbusters 3, it would be the same shit as ever. Probability my friend. Its a tool, use it.
