Instead of turning the clock back an hour tonight, I'm going to turn it ahead 23 hours. And then, I'll watch an episode of "The First 48," which condenses 2 days into 1 hour. So, I'll have witnessed 3 days during 1 hour.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: I'm not dressed funny, it's just the fashion here in the future.

I am at work tonight. Got here a 8pm, so if I work 7.5 hours, I get off at 2:30am. Which means according to my time card, I only worked 6.5 hours....

It's an automated system, so I am thinking I am going to have to make sure I don't lose an hour of pay, and talk to payroll on Monday.

My mom used to work in a hotel that had these clocks that auto-adjust for Daylight Savings. The time and date they change is hardcoded, so...

Yeah DST is annoying, especially up in the far North like Canada or the UK where I am. It was already getting dark super early but now it's dark at 3pm, horray!

It's completely dark outside, and it's only 5:50 P.M. I haven't felt the need to point that out since middle school.

Indeed. That's the first thing that comes to my mind with DST in the fall. Of course I never thought about people who have to work nights. That must suck with payroll. Sad

Those of us who work nights know two very important things about DST:

In the fall, be very, very vocal about getting your extra hour.

In the spring, be very, very quiet about that hour you missed.

All I know is that I nearly shit myself when I saw the clock in the car said I was already half an hour late for work before I realized it was DST.

Cell phones probably ease many a "oh fuck" DST moments due to auto adjusting.

I'm banking on that excuse as to why I turned in a paper 90 minutes late.

I hate DST except for how wonderful it feels to sleep an hour longer. I wish that there were a way to get that extra hour without fucking up every clock in the damn country.

I think the only way I've been able to maintain employment at an 8:00-5:00 job for so many years is due to the fact that by the time they get fed up with me being late, daylight savings rolls around and I get that extra hour. I swear, it doesn't matter what time I go to bed (and i have ambein, so i can literally go to bed whenever I want) I cannot get up at 7:00 am unless it's the winter.

Not true at all. Brown people in Arizona still make shit for wages, thus keeping food and goods prices low, while getting fucked over massively in terms of pay and societal rights. And that's not to mention the scorn! Same as it ever was, same as it ever was...
