No Wii .
Still, it looks awesome and I'm super psyched that they remade such an awesome game. This was the shit back in the day. I always loved playing OddJob because he's short like me (also harder to hit!)

Yeah, my friends and I had a rule you couldn't play as Oddjob...well, unless you completely sucked.
I will have my copy by Saturday. Can't wait.

Not for fifty bucks. I'll get a used copy in a few years when it's nine bucks at Gamestop.

You could just impose a -2 health handicap or something similar on whoever chooses Oddjob.

It's gotten pretty good reviews so far and looks like a lot of fun.

Baron Samedi has a speed bonus though, Jaws didn't. I think Mayday had a speed bonus too.

I guess I find it an odd series of events.
Goldeneye is being remade for the Wii...
and
James Bond: Blood Stone was released yesterday?
I'll wait until both games are in the bargain bin, until then, Trine is on sale for $5 until this evening, so it wins.

Is there anything new about this, or is just the same game? I'd buy it right away if I didn't still have an N64, but if there is reason to, maybe ill grab it when it's on sale.

Rydog, it is a modernized remake.
In other words, they have changed the story so that it fits for 2010, not 1995. They are using Daniel Craig as Bond. The general story will be the same, but certain historical facts that wouldn't work for the current year have been adjusted.
For example, from what I have read, Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky will not be a KGB member because that wouldn't fit the timeline for 2010.
Personally I think we all could have dealt with the game being a direct remake and set in 1995. However, it isn't, so that is the deal.

Wow, this one totally slipped under my radar. It is WEIRD seeing alternate-reality GoldenEye without Brosnan.

Baron Samedi always used to look especially amusing when he was moving while crouching. All the characters sort of floated around on their knees, but since the Baron had no pants on, it was hard to watch him go without laughing.
Just writing that brings back such fond memories of many an all night Goldeneye session. I intend to grab this new version when I can, and hopefully it'll be fun/nostalgic.

As much as I hate Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, I actually really like Craig as Bond (so long as he doesn't fall desperately in love and get married MY FUCKING GOD was that atrocious).
Sean Bean still better be playing Trevelyan though.

There is online multiplayer, Rydog, as well as split-screen local multiplayer. I just got it myself, and I friggin' love it already. The first level is an awesome mix of familiar spots and new sections, all while having a distinct "Daniel Craig's Bond" feel to it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the game plays out, finding out what remained the same and what's completely new.

It's basically Call of Duty lite. Multiplayer works really well online and off (framerate notwithstanding), but I imagine that the offline would be more thrilling with four players, just like the old days.

That is pretty awesome. They should give an opportunity to disarm though.

I guess the game uses the real weapon names instead of the fictional versions. This is probably because it's from a different developer and they didn't want to get sued. Still, I want my Klobb, PP7, and RCP-90, dammit.

Interesting... I would have thought that the guns were part of the "Bond" copyright and that MGM and EON were the owners of any part of the story.
