Tea party be damned, the Dems are getting mud stomped. Americans are so easily manipulated its hilarious. "This Liberal spending is going to bankrupt our grandchildren!" cry the people who were all for a 3 trillion dollar war being financed by loans from China. Now Marco Rubio's insane ass is my Senator, great, just great. Couldn't vote in a moderate Republican like Charlie, we gotta go full blown bat shit with this guy. Oh Well, hope everyone voted, but from these results it looks like you guys might not have.

I would hardly call it mud stomped. It's actually a lot better than I expected it to be given some of the pre-election polling. We've lost the House yeah, but that also happened in the '96 midterms under Clinton. *shrug*. We aren't going to lose the Senate, which was my big fear. Although we lost our filibusterer proof majority, ultimately I don't think it'll make a huge deal in terms of getting shit passed. It's not like we were really able to do much besides the uber-watered down version of the healthcare bill anyway. (Which did do a lot of good things, but....sigh.)

I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT ELECTIONS!
No, seriously. Every party is full of crooks, and I never saw a single political ad that did not attack another candidate. It's bullshit. Fuck this place, I'm moving to Canada.

It happens. In two years, it'll go the other way again. And people are easily manipulated... remember two years ago? All the promises of change and bipartisanship and all that other happy horse shit? Pour enough honey in people's ears and they'll believe anything.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

On one hand I am happy to see some of these Dems ousted, on the other, this "new" Republican party scares me. It is apparent that no longer can Republicans be any form of moderate because they fear they will be scorned by the Tea Bagger movement. What we need is moderate politicians who can meet in the middle, but the tea party only creates a bigger divide. If I was Obama, I would propose all Republican Ideas like cutting taxes for the rich, call them my own ideas, and watch the Republicans filibuster them as they call tax cuts socially wrong and unamerican.

I am a liberal but things seem don't to be working out too well with the high liberal democrat leadership. I am willing to see what a higher gop margin would bring about, but I really don't want the tea partiers to win. Those people honestly scare me.

I noticed two years ago that the tides always change when people shout loud enough. Politics is so predictable that it's a wonder I even notice.

You know, ordinarily I wouldn't condone a post like that by JRA, but since it DOES involve a Shawn Michaels video, I'm going to allow it.

For once, I actually agree with Ash. I work on this stuff all day at work. It's pretty laughable, and we'll be at it again in the next 2-6 years.

Yeah, it's all meaningless and will be every 4 years from now for eternity. No matter who gets elected, nothing ever really affects any of us and our day-to-day lives remain unchanged. To follow and root for politicians as if they make any kind of difference is silly.

The shift will happen every single time that there is trouble in the world... wait... that is always. Someone needs to be blamed, why not pick political parties instead of the specific individuals who are fucking it all up?
