Sorry I've been away from the forums for so long. After getting Xbox Live Gold, as well as the things shown below, posting has been the last thing on my mind. Well, anyhoo, here's some cool stuff I have obtained over the past few months.
(NOTE: I couldn't figure out how to resize the pics here. Sorry!)
This is a copy of
PD Ultraman Battle Collection 64. It was released only in Japan, so I ended up paying about $18 for it (it was the only import there, so I grabbed it faster than a cheetah on caffeinated crystal sprinting on the top of a train rocketing through a frictionless vacuum.
Being a Japanese release, the cartridge normally would not physically fit into an American console, though the two are fully software-compatible. Whoever owned this before me crudely modified the cartridge to fit. I normally would be angry, but in this case it saved me the trouble of either finding a Japanese console or modifying the one I have.
Speaking of imports, here's
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum for the PS2. Even though I already own the US version of this game (and it's pretty fun), this copy was marked down considerably.
The disc is monochrome, but I rather like the manual art. Apparently, the Japanese version has (or had) online play! SNK cheated us Americans!
I guess the spine simply shows the title, but since I can't read Japanese at all, I have no idea. Interestingly, the CERO rating (basically Japan's version of the ESRB) is shown here too.
Here's the US and Japanese versions' boxes side by side.
Moving on from imports, here's the Game of the Year Edition of
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
"But Skinr!" you say. "Where's Oblivion? Your profile shows that you play it now!" First off, stop stalking me, stalker. Second, here it is:
That's right, I own the almighty
Collector's Edition of Oblivion! Want to see inside this delightful box?
Here's the game disc, as well as a DVD that contains the Making Of documentary and little else.
Also included is a paper map of the province of Cyrodiil. I placed the instruction manual (about 8" tall) there for scale.
My favorite part is the Pocket Guide to the Empire, a physical book that details various aspects of the Elder Scrolls series' game world. It looks and feels authentic, and makes a great addition to my collection.
The rest of this stuff isn't quite as cool, but I am proud of it. Finding these games in the original boxes might be more trouble than it's worth.
I've had this for a while, but I still love it. It's the Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection. Here's the sleeve the three cases game in.
Here's the interestingly repackaged first game, still playable on a PS1. The VR Missions disc wasn't included in the box set, but I put it in the picture because it's awesome.
Here are the second and third games. They are the Substance and Subsistence versions, respectively, but the Persistence disc wasn't included! WTH?
Finally. Here it is...a
STAQ FU!
Well, thanks for taking the time to sit through this. Hope you enjoyed it!
