I agree wholeheartedly. If the game had been released as an exclusive pack-in with the Red Wii, I would have bought that package. Separately, they're not that interesting to me. Especially when the Wii comes with a game I already have and that has absolutely no resale value whatsoever because EVERYONE fucking has it.

I wonder if that book will have anything noteworthy that I don't already know. Maybe they'll clear the air whether or not Birdo/Ostro is a transvestite homosexual.

Somehow though, this game will end up on your couch next to the others. Search your heart Syd, you know it to be true.

But if you don't open it, then you can never access the tasty booklet and CD within.

I wouldn't be surprised if the book isn't anything that's not on wikipedia and who cares about the cd? Every other ringtone in the world is a Super Mario song.

Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom. |

I reserved it, mainly for the extra swag that comes with the game.

Fucking this. People can talk shit about it all they want, but at least you are getting a hard copy of something instead of just a file on your system. |
Yeah, but Sonic 4 is a new game with actual developmental costs. This is a ROM running off emulation software. Eight years ago, for the same $29.99, you could have gotten Sonic Mega Collection, which featured ELEVEN full retail games. The bar is constantly being lowered, people. You're paying more money for less content.
And at least Sonic 4 is something you'll actually play. With the Mario thing, you paying $30 for a nice booklet and a music CD, and a crappy game that only an idiot would enjoy. |
I totally understand that a new game has new development costs, but we aren't exactly talking about a halo orchestra soundtrack, or a red faction: guerilla physics engine, or gears of war leveled textures and shading, or even a famous writer penning the story mode. We're talking about a 2d sonic game.
Edit- especially considering that there have been games with more content released for less, like Scott pilgrim.
