Alright, So starting to understand a little better.
Carbs in the morning
Mid morning to lunch snack (fruit works)
Grow some balls and eat some Veggies in my Salad.
Afternoon Snack (Protein Shake maybe)
Protein Meal dinner
now I see you giving this 85/15 and 97/3 on the burgers, what do those numbers represent?
Also, I usually work out right after work. So looking at 3-4pm. Would it be more beneficial to drink a protein shake before or after my workout? and how long before/after?
Seriously guys, thanks again. I just don't have too much experience in this stuff. |
When you buy ground beef there is a ratio of meat to fat content. 85/15 means 85% meat and 15% fat. 97/3 means 97% meat and 3% fat. More fat (to a point... 85%) does make the burger taste better. Less fat means... less fat. Alternative names to the numbers would be "lean burgers". I highly recommend that you try some high quality turkey burgers as well. Personally I like them better than lean burgers.
As for the carbs for breakfast. I am simply suggesting that you eat your carbs earlier rather than later. You don't need to have carbs every breakfast. I do about 4 out of 7 days a week. I tend to have carbs for dinner the other 3, but only on days when I am up late and doing heavy martial arts at night.

As a workout supplement this is perfect timing. Just don't count this against your meals. So in other words, if you plan on having 2 servings of protein during the day, don't count a protein shake after a workout as one of them.
