I didn't see this posted anywhere else, I'm sure if it was someone will dig it up and school me. But anyway...

This game looks sick and they developed it and had real Special Forces come in and ensure its accuracy of weapons and tactics.

I'm very excited for it. Anyone else going to pick it up? Comes out October 12th.

I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy it, only because it looks like its going to tank out like MW and MW2.
I might get it if it goes cheap eventually but I'll wait for awhile...

Didn't care much about this game a few weeks ago, but after watching the "Experience" gameplay vids they've been releasing, I actually pre-ordered it. The single-player looks tense, and the multiplayer (developed by DICE and apparently recently overhauled) looks like it has the feel of a more condensed version of Bad Company. All in all, I'm pretty psyched about a Medal of Honor game for the first time since Frontline came out.

I don't play military games. When I have kids, I don't want them to grow up watching me play military games, because kids are impressionable, and I don't want to give them the idea that the military is fun and glamorous and cool.

I want my kids to aspire to be better than that. I want them to grow up to be vampire hunters, zombie killers, ninjas, or plumbers.

Heh, I get what you mean, but military games can be good if done right. The bravado and "WOW AWESOME" factors of some military games make me groan, and listening to little kids call me words that I didn't know at their age over Xbox Live makes me depressed, but I think a good military game, like a movie, can give a great point of view and an interesting experience.

I always liked the Brothers in Arms games because they never really glorified war. There were no badass characters or "Oh man war has awesome moments in it." The series introduced unique, interesting characters, and-as it always happens in war- some of them end up dying. Watching the toll it takes on the other soldiers, adding on to the fact that they do nothing but fight for eight days straight, creates a tense, pressurized atmosphere not unlike classic war movies like "Black Hawk Down" or "Saving Private Ryan." What I'm getting at here, is that a war game can be a great, provocative experience, and not just a "Sweet I just blew up a brown person/Russian!" testosterone-fest. I really hope MoH can create such a great experience, but looking at past experiences with the genre, I'm not holding my breath.

It's a little funny that you mention Saving Private Ryan because the original MoH was the brain child of Steven Spielberg. It's kind of going away from it's roots is what's kind of grinding my gears a bit. Sure WWII has been beaten to death with video games but it's not going to have the same factor that the original Medal of Honor had for me because it's become a completely different idea.

After FrontLine I stopped carrying about MoH. I played Rising Sun and just quit. Sure WWII has been beaten to death but it's one of the few wars I am actually entranced by. None of these high tech weapons and planes dropping you shit. It was you versus Germany and it was grand.
Granted I haven't played a FPS since Halo 3, so I don't know what you kids are playing nowadays.

I want a good vietnam shooter, or 3rd person shooter. Their are some great clusterfucks that could be written, im tired of modern junk already

The Battlefield 1942 Collection comes with Battlefield Vietnam, which is pretty fun to play.

There was a game I use to play all the time just called Vietnam. Was a blast to play.

I've pre-ordered this MoH and can't wait to get my paws on it.

Regular. Only Collector's edition I've ever pre-ordered or bough is Fallout: New Vegas.

Based on what I played in the beta I wouldn't buy this game. Thankfully I have GameFly though so I can rent it and play it until Black Ops and the Vietnam expansion to Bad Company 2 are released.

Yeah, I played a little bit of the beta and it was very Medal of Mediocrity. It might've changed a little bit since then, but not enough to warrant me buying it.

I cut my teeth on Medal of Honor, so I always prefer that to Call of Duty. I just hope that this new game didn't lift too many ideas from the recent war shooters. That said, the only FPS I play with any regularity these days is Team Fortress 2, so maybe I'm just spoiled.

From what I've heard reading about the console beta and the current PC beta is that EA gave DICE (developer of the Battlefield series) free reign to improve graphics and gameplay, and is almost unrecognizable from its first public beta. I actually originally wrote the game off due to videos of its mutliplayer, but the recent ones I've seen make it look pretty impressive. I'm going to take a chance on it.
