Lucas is the jedi master of repackaging old content. Get the 3D silver edition, get the 3D gold edition (comes with 2 deleted scenes), get the 3D Platinum edition comes with this one of a kind poster.

Next up? American Graffiti in 3-D with digital remastering and the alternate scene where it's revealed that John Milner is, in fact, a fucking Gungan. Psssht.

| Yea, but apparently these aren't gonna start coming out until 2012, and even then only one a year. |
Actually the plan is to release all of them in 2012, one every two months.

I was never that offended by any of the editing they made to the original movies. Most of it is kind of stupid, maybe. But for the most part I can just dimiss it.
The only real exception for me is that damn musical number with the singing gremlin they added into Jedi, in Jabba's palace. That was a fucking disgrace. |
Agreed on that dance number. I've watched it once, and now I fast forward any time I watch the updated Jedi.
I also don't like the addition of that dumb conversation Han has with Jabba in Episode IV. The conversation adds nothing new (many of the lines are word for word what Han tells Greedo in the cantina), and when Han 'steps' on Jabba's tail the effect looks really amateurish.

I think they should have just left the scottish guy, he was charismatic. Jabba the scottish guy, would be been way cooler.

Speaking of updated Lucas movies, has anyone ever seen the original THX 1138? I have some weird updated version that has funky CGI dog monsters chasing the protagonist around towards the end, and I'm wondering what the original footage was before he CGIed it all up...

THX 1138 is fair to middlin'...at least it has Robert Duvall.
I'm waiting for Lucas to stuff a bunch of CGI scenes into American Graffiti to "complete" it.

Like when Ron Howard says, "Kiss a duck." Howard the Duck will be digitally inserted into the film wearing a poodle skirt.
