Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me.

There was this cartoon, which may have been either a TV movie or pilot. It aired somewhen (I believe) in the early to mid 80's. The premise was that an alien race invaded Earth and rendered all electronics on Earth inert with some sort of suppression field. Humans then discovered that gold would shield their devices from the suppression field. (There was this one scene where a whole communication room was shielded in gold in the White House, or Pentagon, or Fort Knox so they could use radios). The humans then started fighting back using gold-shielded AI modules inserted into construction machinery (?). The AI vehicles looked like giant lego blocks on which the human operators hung on to like shopping carts. The main character was a genius-type teen-aged boy with curly blond hair, whose father was some sort of big-wig scientist or military man.

The animation was on par with Thundercats or Galaxy Rangers and not as cutesy-curvy as as Scooby-Doo.

Thanks everyone!

Jace and the Wheeled Warriors?

Hi lordsathien, thanks for the reply. However, no it's not Jace. I vaguely remember Jace (and looked it up again) and the details were wrong. Primarily, there was no biotechnology conceit in the story premise that I remember and the heroes did not travel 'inside' their vehicles. Also, it was more 'hard' sci-fi than Jace, which had quite a few fantastic elements, like Flora and the magic 'root'.

Good guess though. Appreciate it.
