While I was walking to school today, I passed by my car and I couldn't help but notice that someone smashed the driver-side window of Bianca's (my girlfriend's) car.
Nothing was stolen, but apparently the window was smashed with a beer bottle. We quickly emptied the contents of the car and patched the window with trashbags and duct tape. I am so. fucking. pissed. off.

Happened to my buddy who was visiting me while I was on an internship in NYC. His car was parked on the street for exactly one night.
Same situation, nothing stolen, just a smashed window. Still bullshit.

I deliberately keep a bunch of trash in my van. The fact that it's dented and rusting in spots adds to the 'nothing valuable' vibe most people get from it.

Sometime between November last year and this February, the passenger-side door handle was ruined, as if someone was trying to pry it open with a large screwdriver. I have no idea why, since there was never anything of value inside the car. I park my car with the passenger side facing my house so I have to walk out to the street to unlock it, even I'm not going to drive it.

Sorry to hear about this, Nekkoru. Not to steal your thunder at all but last summer my car was also jacked (with very minimal losses). Feels kind of violating, doesn't it?
At least nobody was hurt and nothing of value was taken. Hopefully this was just some random event which won't happen to you two again.

The fact that they didn't take anything just makes me wonder why they did it in the first place. ''Looks like they did it with a beer bottle'' makes me think drunken escapades, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a bunch of people who decided to vandalize someones property for no fucking reason. Shit like that is 'cool' if you're in a gang nowadays. Bah.

Well, we got it fixed yesterday and found a secure parking spot, so that's where the car is now. It's three hundred dollars down the crapper, so yeah. Fun times.
