I watched the video, and while the dress is a wee bit short in the front, the video was harmless, almost to the point of being puerile. Just shows, though: America- Settled by Puritans and still upholding Puritanical attitudes... as long as people are paying attention. Blech.

Hilarious. And what's with Green Screen Sesame Street? Is that what they're doing these days?

The dress shouldn't be an issue. The content of the duet shouldn't be an issue. What should be an issue is that Katy Perry is not a suitable role model for children and has absolutely no business appearing on a children's show as a result. By putting Katy Perry on Sesame Street, Sesame Workshop would essentially have been endorsing Katy Perry as suitable entertainment for children. She's not. She's a skank, and she shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children.
Snoop Dogg was going to appear on Sesame Street a number of years ago, until someone remembered that he's a massive pothead and a porn producer.
B.B. King was on Sesame Street?! Before or after his ban?

I was gonna make this topic and call it "Elmo PMSes like a bitch".
Nah, this didn't deserve to be pulled. As the article said, part of the show is to also appeal to adults as well as kids. Personally, I wonder how many kids would get the subtext of this:
Am I the only one who's getting a creepy vibe from that video?
I'm less concerned about the skimpiness of the dress or her known skankiness; That thing she's wearing on her head almost screams improvised wedding dress, and her chasing the equivalent of a small kid as intending to "play" with him is more than enough to summon Pedobear.
Because taste skips a generation or two, apparently.

Because children like Elmo better. I know because my 4 year old son adores Elmo.
And considering this show is kind of aimed at children and not you guys, they go with the more popular characters.

Kids these days like Elmo better because he gets more exposure than Grover.
I don't hate Elmo, but I know a lot of so-called Sesame Street purists hate Elmo and feel that a lot of his shtick is stolen from Grover. They even have a nickname for Elmo: The Red Menace.
