Oh man, look at all that actual gameplay. Also, how come Jin Kazama is the main character now?

What the shit is this? Thats not Dante. It doesn't look a thing like him. He may act like him, and putting out a cigarette on the enemy was pretty cool, but that is NOT fucking Dante. And who thought it was a good idea to give a reboot to a series about 10 years old and with less then 5 entries? What is so wrong with continuing the series? Give us DMC5 with Dante, Nero, and possibly Randal. I'm calling shenanigans on this bullshit!

DMC5 should be Dante, Randall, J, and Robert.

And didn't Prince of Persia get rebooted after like 5 years?

Prince of Persia was an older game, from the eighties I believe, which after three games and numerous ports got a reboot early 00's with the Sands series, which kind of got a reboot in 2006 after three games with the cell shaded game, which de-booted back to the sands style for the latest game. I think that's how it goes. I'm off to check facts!

Yeah, I was referring to reboot after the Sands trilogy, which was the second reboot in a very short number of years.

Does Sonic 2006 count as a reboot?

Yea, I will admit the reboot angle is a bit unnecessary and lame.

But that was pretty badass, I am sure this will be a lot of fun regardless.

I don't like this... I don't like this at all. Unless it's like before Dante realized he was a half-human half-devil Hybrid, it just seems redundant and week. Hell it doesn't look like Dante and while it has the same appeal of being a wild gun slinging sword throwing time, it just... I think this game is going to drive me to get the God of War games, which I shunned for the DMC games back in the day...

You can enjoy both franchises.

They might as well have just given this character a different name.

and pulled a DMC 4, having Nero as the main character and using Dante to further the storyline

Let me guess...Now they're going to change Dante's appearance in MVC3 to this assclown.

Who wants to bet that that Frank West has either a cameo or have a special mission where you play as him?

Those character names in Clerks aren't a coincidence. I'm sure you many of you guys know this already, but Kevin Smith took those character names from The Divine Comedy, and patterned Clerks after the classic. Some of the sections of the movie are titled after the different chapters from the story as well (Dante's Inferno being the most well-known chapter).

Ninja Theory, the guys behind Heavenly Sword for the PS3, are behind this.

I don't see that much bad in Dante's redesign, and I'm taking a wait and see approach unlike the rest of the RAEGing internet.

I'm usually like this too... but every once in a while I like to be unfair and prejudiced. Specially since I don't particularly care about DMC. I like Bayonetta better (I am aware Bayonetta is some kind of... rehash of DMC with a babe instead of a tough guy, but I still like her better)

Anyways, I do hope this new game turns out well.

How do we know this is a reboot? They could be pulling a trick on us like they did with dmc2 and dmc4. That guy might not really be Dante.

This could also just be a reimagining, like prince of Persia and sands of time. Same title, same name, different everything else. Contrary to popular belief, the game after warrior within wasn't a reboot. It's like how 616 marvel and ultimate marvel can coexist.

So the game will be unnecessarily short and provide you ample opportunity to throw hats at gongs?

If this turns out to be Enzio from the DMC manual, I officially quit

The cycle for new games in established franchises is:

Initial excitement, complain, complain, complain, complain, buy it anyway, complain, play it, complain, beat it, complain, keep complaining until the sequel is announced. Complain about how the sequel ought to be better. Then once a teaser trailer is out, start complaining about the new game. This is the REAL Sonic Cycle.

My philosophy behind sequels is that I want more of the same. If I liked the first one so much, I want more of that experience. If they want to drastically change things, start a spin-off or a new series. If they want to reboot a franchise, bring closure to the original storyline. Not everything needs to be revolutionized. Something that's been done before can still be great if it's well made with compelling characters or atmosphere. This is why I'll play the next 50 Mega Man games. I love the first three Silent Hill games but totally hate SH4 because it made too many unnecessary changes that ruined what I think a SH game should be. They tried to fix what wasn't broken. Of course there are always exceptions. Sometimes the developer gets it right and makes changes for the better, most of the time they fuck it up.

Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom.
