The article says he was a "Combat Gynecologist", lol. Maybe branding a uterus is SOP in the armed forces. It seems like something the government would get behind. And, I suppose it would be useful if one's uterus were to fall out.

Branded Uterus and Combat Gynecologist both sound like band names.

So essentially he gave her a tattoo on the inside of her Uterus...that takes some skill I must admit.
And I agree with Sathien, Branded Uterus would be a good name for a band, maybe Emo, and Combat Gynecologist, I could see opening for Slayer...

I am not sure how to feel about this... It is weird...
I wouldn't want some guy doing this to my wife...
But what are you going to sue him for? It isn't like you can see it, feel it, or ever really tell beyond lab instruments taking pictures.

I'd have to read the article again, and I'm too lazy for that, but I believe she was suing for the burns on her legs, not the actual act of being branded. But, I could be wrong.

Okay, so I'm confused. It says he removed her uterus, so like, not to be callous or anything, but if its not in her body anymore then why do they care what he does to it? Or did he put it back in?
Also, if she's suing for burn marks on her leg, how bad of a shot with that cauterizing device was he? He didn't think to, I dunno, move the uterus away from the woman before branding it?
Someone correct me, maybe its because I just woke up but this story doesn't make much sense.
This whole thing has a very creepy feel to it.

Inch-high? This doctor needs to have Lasik done.
Also, why go with the full name? Initials weren't adequate?

Seriously, if it was removed, who cares? It's not like you were gonna keep it in a jar or something. I don't see how this is different from tagging it in any other way.
Now, if her name wasn't Ingrid, that might be an issue.
