What type of coloring was used on this picture? My guess is watercolored pencils or something, but I don't know enough about art to say.

It's my current wallpaper.......a scene from George RR. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.

That looks awesome, I would agree that it is some sort of colored pencil.

Looks like it could be one of those really fancy spraypaint pictures.

I doubt it was watercolor pencils mainly due to the amount of exact detail and overall range and boldness of colors. Watercolor pencils are usually used in more stylistic art where attention to exact detail and lighting aren't as prioritized.

The entire sky and the majority of the water look like they could have been done with some type of pastel or a very soft colored pencil, but the rest of the picture points to the contrary. I'd go with a very detailed oil painting or more likely just regular colored pencils.

The deep color saturation has to come from oil paints or something. Unless there are some kind of super-nice colored pencils out there, I don't know how else you could achieve it. There's no visible lines or anything.

I'm tempted to say either oil or acrylic, with possible airbrushing.

I'll have to look into it.

Awesome picture.

...But I gotta say, those are the two most absurd helmets on the face of the planet.

Ha, yea. The antlers at least look kinda cool, but the dragon is a little goofy. They're basically just giving their enemies and extra 3+ feet of space to land a shot and crack their necks.

Yeah, the antlers are okay. They remind me of the Horned King from the Black Cauldron, or Kain from Willow.

There's a chance that it's digital as well which might explain why it looks like a bunch of different media all at once.

I agree with Pandajuice.

But if it isn't Digital I would tend to lean towards multiple methods of drawing. The background is so smooth. The subjects are so defined.
