Here ya go. In my opinion SNES wins hands down. Yes, the original XBox had some fun games, but did it have A Link To The Past? Mario RPG? Super Mario World? Yoshi's Island? Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, or 3? Pilotwings? F-Zero? Zombies Ate My Neighbors? Gradius 3? Wario's Woods? The list goes on and on. SNES>XBox any day. You have one day to vote.

SNES has Zelda LttP, Super Mario World, Megaman 7, and Final Fight. I could keep going, but let's keep it even.

Xbox has Final Fight Streetwise, Halo 2, Soul Calibur 2 with Spawn, and...GTA Vice City.

SNES wins.
FLAWLESS VICTORY!

This is so pointlessly biased. Why even have the polls?

I'd have voted for the Xbox if it had more decent games. The 360 may have won against the SNES in my opinion.

Jet Set Radio Future was on the Xbox so obviously that's the better system.

Never played it, but I heard good things about the Dreamcast game, Jet Grind Radio.

He has a point. SNES had Ness, and when you combine SNES' SNESness with Ness' Nessness you can't be beaten by a system that suffers from Nesslessness (ans SNESlessness)
But seriously, SNES because I love Beat'em Ups

How would you be able to compare something like the SNES to the 360 though, Thunder? They came out 15 years apart. Sure the 360 would have more functionality (duh), but the games are far weaker IMO.

For these polls to really work without being retarded they should go up by generation.

Do like a second gen. battle and compare the Colecovision and Intellivision, or if that is too old do like a fourth gen. battle against the SNES and Genesis.

That would actually be more fair and spark decent conversation.

It's the original XBox. And it's a console tournament, so if I would have put classic consoles vs. classic consoles and modern consoles vs. modern consoles, they may have faced anyways.

I was talking to Thunderhorse with that first part bud (despite thinking he was TARDISman by first glance at avatar, hah), he said he may have voted for the 360 if that were in the running over the original XBOX.

I don't even get how this in comparable.

A fourth generation to a seventh generation console.

It's funny though that the fourth generation console still wins though.

I wouldn't compare it by anything like graphics where the newer console is the obvious winner. I'd vote by just how many awesome games I've played on the system in question.

While the SNES has a multitude of excellent games, so does the 360.

SNES has Final Fight, 360 has Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. SNES has Super Mario RPG, 360 has Tales of Vesperia. Etc.

EDIT: Also, I like the pairings. Best of Gen has been done, but I've never seen a random Gen Console Battle.

I may be slightly biased, but I don't think the 360 has a "multitude" of good games, as you can find a majority of them on the PS3 or PC anyways.

You would have to just consider their exclusives, and honestly I don't think that they have too many "great" ones. The list of fantastic SNES exclusives goes on forever.

Any game that was ported to Genesis from SNES was vastly different in it's style and general aesthetic.

Both games you named can be found on PS3. The last great exclusive the 360 really had IMO was Mass Effect, and now that franchise is also coming to PS3. I just think the pairings are lame.

Final Fight was also ported to multiple consoles, and I wasn't aware Vesperia was ported to the PS3. I guess looking at exclusive titles makes the 360 and PS3 look alot weaker, but there have been several good games this generation that were multi-platform. Resident Evil 5, Oblivion, Super Street Fighter 4, and Eternal Sonata just to name a few. I don't think we should just exclude them. When the SNES was new, a much smaller percentage of games were multi-platform, and even fewer of them were actually good.

If you want to be a jackass, you could consider that Xbox has ten Mega Man games.

The SNES and Xbox sucked majorly, the Virtual Boy kicked more ass than either those combined!

I forgot all about those. I have them on the PS2, but I don't play them anymore, since I finally have all the original formats.

See, this pairing is slightly better, but comparing consoles and handhelds is not really fair.

The DS has a stronger library, but I really love certain N64 games.
