are the rumors true?
is Damon Lindelof teaming up with Ridley Scott to do an alien prequel? for those of you that do not know Damon Lindelof is the cocreator of LOST, so depending on how much you liked that series this news is either exciting or infuriating
to me... its exciting, I thoroughly enjoyed LOST

Fuck that, don't let that guy anywhere near Alien. Otherwise, it'll turn out that the 'Alien' is just a symbol of the internal demons that the people in the colony being hunted by them have as they lay dying or some horseshit.

there is plenty of backstory in the books and comics. that ship is from a race of alien "collectors" that archive the universe, basically. they took some alien eggs from a "certain" planet, not knowing what they were doing. the eggs hatched and killed them all. their ships crashed all over the place, and now there are aliens everywhere.
it's often hinted that the aliens are too perfect to be natural, which in turn hints at the fact that predators or some other race might have purposely created them to be challenging game to hunt or something. there have been numerous instances where it's been shown that predators purposely colonize some planets with alien hives, so that they can hunt on them like some sort of gaming preserve.

I'm always up for more Aliens done well, but I'm a little tired of this rash of prequels coming out of Hollywood. How many movies must there be where we know how they end before even entering the theater?

Personally I'd like to see an Alien SEQUEL.
It could play up on the story arc that ran through the books, where earth was overrun.
