Ummm... What?
Yeah... fuck stores that sell games to systems you might never owned as a child, but just recently got ahold of. I mean here you are wanting to play a classic game, and this guy comes along and has it for sale! Fuck him. Fuck him in his stupid ass. Carrying hard to find stuff I want to buy! Who does he think he is?

Not to mention imports, or possibly knowing people who can fix consoles or even cabinets! Especially since he's not propping up some monolithic chain retail store and *gasp* lives in the community, probably even gives back to it! Does his depravity ever cease?
Sorry. I had to.

I've always wondered how a used game store stays in business. They never seem to actually sell anything.

It's a terrible idea for a store. These stores overprice games hoping to cash in on nostalgia, however, gamers who fit this niche are smarter than your average dope and can use the internet thingy to get the same games at half the price on Ebay. Not to mention spending a few weekends at yard sales. I run a similar type business as a hobby, I pick up some games and flip the ones I don't need or want onto Ebay. It doesn't make me a fortune but it fuels a couple hundred bucks into my account so I can buy any games I do want. It does suck to see any local small business go under, but a little market research might have gone a long way for this guy. Anyways, I still want that Nintendo cabinet.

Decoded dun dun duh!
In response to the idea of all pooling money and spliting the games, even if they're cool, if they're for personal use I'd hardly play any of them, since as it is, when I owned 10 games for one of my consoles, I only really liked and had time for 3, so more would be a complete waste.
The second part was on a totally different comment... Was commenting how many of those stores rip off the buyers, and especially rip off the sellers. Due to lack of options for the sellers. (Craig's list/e-bay are improving this). So was saying how i'm not all too sad to hear a store like that go under, when they've given so many people 10 cents on the dollar for items sold to them.

I just want to go on record as saying we should use it for the apocalypse, as stated in the other thread.

My local Mon & Pop used store is awesome. I traded in about $400 worth of PS1 games to them, and got almost $300 in credit which scored me a used Xbox 360 and 7 games. I would have been laughed out of Gamestop, or worse, they would have offered me $80, or $100 with an Edge card, and then asked if I wanted to pre-order Super Mega Franchise 9.

we could get other people we know involved. I guess it doesn't have to be a forum specific thing.

And then we could have a reality show where we try to run the store!
