Right. Prepare yourself for a very hard question.

I'm going to give you the vaguest clues possible. The main character was previously portrayed by Bill Murray. This film is an adaptation of a book. The director was once considered as a potential director of the first Harry Potter movie (and later spent two hours driving angrily through Mullholland Drive when he was rejected). The lead actors were good friends of the author of the book that the movie is based on. This movie was released in 1998.

Name the movie, the author of the book and the director.

And yes, I have given you enough clues.

Name the movie:

It took the writers almost ten years to get it made from script to film, because they demanded they be allowed to direct, which they had no prior expirence in. Also they wished to be allowed to cast serious actors in the comedic roles, instead of the Studio's wishes of well known comedians such as Chevy Chase and Bill Murray. Their gamble paid off, as the movie made over 20X its budget helping to save the money starved studio.

Bingo!

David Zucker explained that "the trick was to cast actors like Robert Stack, Leslie Nielsen, Peter Graves, and Lloyd Bridges. These were people, who up to that time, had never done comedy. We thought they were much funnier than the comedians of that time were."

And, after the ZAZ team saw how Kentucky Fried Movie was filmed much differently than they invisioned it, they decided that they needed to direct so the movie would perfectly match thier ideas.

fun fact: one of the directors changed his name to Abrams & Zucker for 1 full year, so they can all get credit for directing, since the directors guild frowns upon co-directors. or was it writers?

at any rate, i pass my turn to someone else

Old school question: Humphrey Boughart always played a gangster or tough guy in his early roles. Later through his career in the 40's and 50's he changed characters. What characters did he then start playing?

Trick Question!

There is no-one in the Screen Actors Guild who ever had the name "Humphrey Boughart".

But, if you meant Humphrey BOGART, then I'm not sure since he played various character types in his later films. In the last 3 movies he ever made he played a priest, a sportswriter, and an escaped convict.

It's a regional difference, like yoghurt and yogurt.

This film featuring the creator of Tae Bo was remade twice using a virtually identical script. Name it.
