Seriously, this is awesome. Does anyone know if it's true? I usually take stairs as a rule (and I don't get many opportunities to use elevators anyway) but if this really works, I am so doing this.
(Just make sure you don't hit the wrong button and end up with Harlan Ellison's Elevator People...)

You're a tool of the Elevator Council, aren't you? If such a thing were to exist, they obviously wouldn't want people to know about it because people in a hurry could then circumvent a floor with waiting police officers or such, as this system was designed for.
The "experiments" in that article sound ridiculous though. They just went to a store and tried, and then the times it worked thought "Maybe no one was there to push another button"? Why didn't they just have people go to different floors to press a call elevator button so they would KNOW? Also, considering the method described in that article is different than the one in this thread, I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing it incorrectly.
tl;dr version: That article is pretty shitty, and this is something I'd need to try myself to find out. My experiment, of course, would be set up properly.

Another trick, if you hit the floor buttons in the order of 8675309 (0 being the basement floor), it'll change that boring elevator music to all the greatest hits of the 80's.
Which is nice because you'll be riding the elevator for awhile after that.

This works in my building for locked elevators. When people move in, management will lock the elevator so it will only go from the ground to that person's specific floor.
Problem is, everyone figured this thing out, so when I was moving in, some complete asshole did this as I was walking up to the elevator with my arms full of stuff. He even looked straight at me as the doors were closing.

I heard that one, and that one's really cool. The best trick is if you stand in an elevator and press none of the buttons, it'll print money after 6 days.

i never would've dreamed to call it funny. you see, to be funny, a joke usually has to have a punchline or some other humorous aspect to it. that seems to be the point you've ended up missing most of the times you've tried being witty. what you provided was an asinine statement that wasn't even ironically funny. it was irritating. seriously, if you're planning on doing standup at some point in the future, write some new fucking material.

It's called dry humor you'll appreciate it more when you're older. It was styled after sideways.

Hooray for dry wit and patronization! Did you hear the one about the guy that overreacted to a joke on the SydLexia forums? I heard his overanalyzation of humor caused people to get in a useless argument. Humor is what makes you laugh, plain and simple.

and with that, i'll wait for the day that jonsnow seems remotely humorous to me. i refuse to hold my breath though, because passing out should only be done after binging.

Aeonic if you want to be a better person, ignore klimb and fernin. I would take me at my most inane any day over Fernin, or his clone Klimb. Klimb, true to his name, is basically the clone of any one with authority. I have no doubt if he's married, that he's the woman in the relationship. Complete people pleaser, and my oh my he does please well with his hands. Of course i'm talking about his eloquent typing skills.
Aeonic, I struggle to understand you.. you're 30 years old... you follow my posts around, and you just said what i said, but were like you do it, you go in an elevator. Why don't you want to do that Jon, sounds like a good idea to me, Jon... go do that. i'm not going to go into it. You should be happy i erase a lot shit.
I should erase that whole post, I need to get that off my chest.
I don't neccesarily dislike you aeonic.. it's just i don't know.. A harmless post, and you gotta say something. Completely harmless. Maybe if you read it in a better mood you might like it more.

first off, let's get things real fucking straight cochise. you have no idea what kind of person i am other than the persona that I have here. second, while i find fernin and klimb agreeable, who the fuck says I take what they have to say with anything other than a grain of salt and shot of tequila? when did they even become an issue here.
you don't understand me? awesome. everything I've seen so far from how we interact shows that we're two radically different people with a few interests that intersect. as for following you, not true. i post in plenty of threads you don't, just as you do ones that I don't. i posted somewhere around 25 times per day, half of them in response to your pap. based off of what i know about you so far, i'm not a fan, but at least I don't talk behind your back in pms or some shit. in case it's not really clear, i'm a little bit of a glass half empty kind of guy, and it shows in how i write. when you say something pointless, i'll call you on it because honestly? that's what I do. i can say whatever the fuck i want, and so can you. that's what's great about this forum. here's what i'll do, though; i'm just not going to bother responding when i see something you've written anymore, no matter how inane or annoying it is. that'll save you and whoever else gives a flying flippy fuck a whole lot of grief.
