With a last day push LEMon Party: Live on CAMera! has emerged victorious with a final vote tally of 32-28. Welcome to the Final Four.
I commend both teams for their campaigns. Great match, gentlemen.

30 of you are idiots. Why 30? Because I can't begrudge Lem and Cam for voting for themselves. Robotcock was the best damn team in this competition and you idiots eliminated them. Why? For a fucking sandwich? Great work, you fat, stupid fucks. At least I know how to campaign next round. I'll bake a cake that says VOTE SYD/KNYTE and you dumb fatties will vote for us in the hopes you get cake. WELL YOU WON'T. Get on a damn treadmill!

I'm bitter that my avatar in Panda's game was rarer than a Zodiac Lance treasure chest.

Don't feel bad Vald, I never saw mine. Didn't stop me from enjoying it though. Still haven't eaten a Camwich, but soon.

Yeah Syd, I don't get it. We gave you guys completely original artworks, Magic parody cards, a really interesting Choose your own adventure video, and a fucking flash game and yet we lost to a couple of videos of one dude frying Cheerios and the other making a sandwich. Really?
Whoever voted for the other team are seriously fucked in the head, and I'd like to hear the arguements as to why what Cam and Lem did was better to earn votes than what we did. I'm not bitter, just you fucking guys are damn hard to please.

Well obviously votes are not simply based on campaigning. Relationships and perceptions based on forums posts also make a difference. There have been some teams that have advanced without doing any campaigning simply based on their popularity. Have Syd and Knyte blown us away with some awesome art or videos? No, but here they sit in the Final Four because of their popularity and what they have brought to the table in the past. That's not a slam against them; they are obviously one of the strongest teams in the field and a clear favorite to win the whole thing.
Cam and Lem are extremely popular in the IRC. Many people who frequent the IRC have interacted with them far more than with either Opti or Pandajuice. I'm sure it's not so much a vote against what the Robotcock came up with, but more about their relationship with Cam and Lem. A good chunk of votes can likely be attributed to that. Also, it's more than just the videos they come up with for this particular battle. In every match, it's a culmination of everything a team has done up to that point.
This is not a knock against the Robotcock. I loved the stuff you guys came up with and pegged you two as a favorite in this thing. You did make it quite far.
Think about it, though. If our buddy JonSnow broke out the most amazing art, awesome music, or some kick ass flash games...would he win a round in this thing? No. If he was up against someone we kind of liked on the forums, even if they did nothing to campaign, we would vote for them. Hell, the chicken avatar would beat JonSnow simply by existing. This is obviously an extreme example, but I hope you understand my point.
If it was about time and effort put into campaigning, then Rycona and Satsui would win every round by 30 votes. Instead, they went 0-2. Rycona spent a couple HUNDRED hours making that ROM hack. I don't remember much of a protest after they lost despite what they produced for us.

Yeah but that's stupid, isn't it? The contest really shuold have been about who could wow people the most with their campaigns, not just who particular people like better or talk to more. Popularity contests are boring and the same person will win every year.

i agree w/that statement. thats why i waited to vote on all of them so as not to have a bias.
either way, all the teams in this round have put on a good show.

That does take the fun out of it, when some votes are pre-decided, but it is to be expected. More interesting when votes are used to encourage creative campaigning. If a team is trying really hard and putting good stuff out, I want to see them in the next round. That said i understand voting for your friends.
Sometimes I vote for the under-dog, where most my votes go, in this battle I didn't vote.

Hi everybody!
I'm Polly, Pandajuice's wife.
This battle has been quite fun for me so I thought I would post here, my first post... but a long time lurker.
I had a lot of fun making the tags, pictures, flash game etc for the comp. I'm sorry to all you Magic Card aficionado's. I really did not have a clue when I made it... I sort of had to guess what a RobotCock card would be. I have, I confess, never played a card game like that in my life
Congratulations winning team... although it makes me sad that Pandajuice and Optimist With Doubts haven't gotten through even though there was a lot of effort involved.
PJ promised a few pictures to people who voted and said that if they won, then there would be some artwork given out. I intend to honour that and will still make the graphics requests - I am looking forward to making a digi-paint of Fermin's rather strange request.
So if you did request a picture for your votes, then please let me know via mail, or through Pandajuice, and I shall see what I can come up with... it may take me a few days or so as I am quite busy with the other half beggaring off to the states
Have fun!
PS: Its a shame this pole-dance video of me goes to waste! Maybe next time.

I voted HR because they did a lot more legwork campaigning, but it is what it is. DOn't worry, you guys'll kill next year. Of course, then I'll have to destroy you, but again, is what it is.
Edit: And hello Polly!

If you've been lurking, I probably shouldn't be the first person to welcome you, but welcome. Great work, if we'd have known he had the misses on board i think they may have garnered a few more votes. Great work, polly, OWD, and Panda : ).

Polly, awesome work these last few weeks. I don't know if Panda passed along some of what I told him in the IRC, but I really like your style and you obviously have a lot of talent. Your vision of a Robotcock was truly inspired. I hope you don't think your work went unnoticed.

Thank you Kim! I did badger him actually.....
"did they like what I did..." sort of thing
Means a lot that it was appreciated, but mostly I did it for the cause, and because I like to show off... now and again
