The fact that he could potentially go to jail for several years just baffles my mind. He was verbally assaulted, physically assaulted and then said fuck it and left the plane. Now he is on par with Drug Dealers and 2nd degree murderers? I realize he opened the slide and potentially created a dangerous situation but...fuck.

What about the passenger? Is he going to be charged with assault? He's lucky the flight attendant didn't hit him back. My brother would've flayed him alive in that situation.

Yeah... no matter how I put it in perspective, this guy never attempted to hurt anyone else.
He should have to pay the airline back the cost of whatever they lost due to dealing with the incident, but going to prison isn't the right punishment.
