A-fucking-men. I so wish I still had both Banjo-Kazooie games, Perfect Dark, and Rogue Squadron.

I enjoy classic games precisely because they are outdated. I was born after most of their times, so when I try them out for myself, I marvel at how anyone put up with the problems of their era.

I hate how a lot of them came out before 1994, WHERE THE FUCK DO THEY GET OFF! The minute I was born ultimatum I had to go back and yard sale hunt for those fucking consoles and then once I got them I had to wait for my hand eye coordination to develop so I could play them. More seriously I hate the sega and snes controller thus all sega and snes games pre-emulation.

Well, i often play Beat 'em up's with some friends, like Street fighter, BlazBlue, Dead or Alive and so on. But what really bugs me is that I'm better than them in these games.
So, it's allways the same, i beat 'em a couple of times and everybody's pissed. This really sucks, and in the end it's no fun at all.

That's why I play online. My friends have no desire to get better despite me having the games readily available for practice.
It sucks too, because I'd rather be able to play against real life people instead of potentially laggy folk.

The fact that some of the best games on the entire NES console didn't have a save function when they should've had one. Contra is short and doesn't need one in spite of its challenge, but games like Ninja Gaiden and Super Mario Bros. 1-3 should've had such a function IMO.

I'm sorry, but ONE HIT KILL shooters piss me off like no other. How the fuck are you supposed to be the all powerful ship of the universe or some dying race's last chance at safety and peace if you die after one hit of anything!? I liked how Vapor Trail for Genesis did it.

What makes your character special is his limitless capacity for ammunition, ability to defy the laws of physics regarding inertia and momentum, and optionally a miniscule hitbox compared to what you're saving. Nobody said you have to be less squishy than them.

If you're THAT desperate, just find an emulator.

One hit kills. Pistols. Sight off. Auto-aim off.
Good times.

The Super Mario Bros. series for being way too fucking hard. If only there were a way to skip levels by warping or something to make the games easier.

To be specific with this one, long-ass passwords that took half a page to write down and turns out you mistyped ONE letter, thus not only realizing that you wasted 5 minutes writing the password altogether, but also wasted hours of gameplay for that matter, forcing you to start again...
I'm looking at you, River City Ransom!!! |
This x 10! I remember slaving, trying to beat Rambo when I was younger. I'd double check the password I'd written with the screen atleast 5 times. It never worked, though I think that game had a coding error with passwords.
I just don't understand why some games had 30 character passwords and others had 5 char... obviously it was possible to do!
Cheers

so's your face.
what pisses me off most about the classics is that my family got it into their heads to sell my old NES and SNES and all the games for it for like ten dollars each console and a buck per cartridge at a yard sale. this is including the three US Final Fantasy games and a bunch more. way to go, guys. I even had the boxes and books for all of them.

The Final Fantasy games are starting to bore the hell out of me. I love the Speed stat. And in half the games it's completely fucking useless because some fucking idiot
decided the ATB gauge didn't stop during attack animations, and some other dumbasses decided to use giant cutscenes for attacks, so every character is ready to act 20 seconds before the fucking attack ends.
Also, it's hard to use any fucking strategy. Every boss is immune to like 90% of the status effects.
Sure you could test all of them to find one that works, but why bother when "Use strongest attack + heal when low HP" works almost every fucking time?
And it's WAY too easy to revive your characters. Make Phoenix Downs harder to get or have it only usable by white mages or something.
In a game I play, when a character's HP drops to 0, they don't die, they just run away to a town and wait for you.
Ironicallly, it's worse than death, as there's no way to make them continue to fight until you exit the dungeon. They're not lying on the ground so you can't tickle them with a feather to revive them.
Or maybe I'm just the masochistic kind of RPG player that won't give up after accidentally triggering a boss fight that should only be attempted
when everyone in your party has ten more levels and you get wiped out on the first turn, losing the 2 levels you gained since the last time you saved (I just get REALLY FUCKING PISSED )

It was kinda funny in the Final Fantasy series when 'dead' party members suddenly became 'injured and can't move' characters. I guess they couldn't have altered the story line so that the 'dead' characters wouldn't have to say their lame lines.

Also your score resets when you continue.
Smash TV get used as prime example of a quarter eater when this should be. Atleat with Smash TV you can play for more then 10 seconds without losing a life on any non boss room.
