It is very rare, so I wouldn't say that it happens all of the time.

The article specifically says that neither parent has any mixed race history in their family tree. Reading comprehension FTW.

Even when there is mixed-race ancestry, it is still quite rare as the pale white gene is very recessive when compared to the dominant black gene.

Heh I couldn't help but think while reading this that in the bible it was said Cane was given black skin (same with his descendants) for insulting god by killing Abel and by sacrificing him vegetables rather than meat.
So this can only mean one thing

This is actually pretty amazing and I can't wait to see whether or not they can figure out what caused this.
I personally think it might be a genetic mutation :/

The Bible does not say that. That is the Mormon interpretation of the Bible, which wasn't written until the late 1800s. In traditional Judaism and Christianity, Cain is said to have been given a 'mark' by God after killing his brother. 'Mark' may not even mean a physical sign, but rather a curse. It really depends on the translation.

Yeah the Page 3 girl phenomenon is awesome. They have such a relaxed sense of sexuality here in Britain, it's pretty refreshing. I mean, imagine a major American newspaper having a different nude girl as one of its main features every issue. People's heads would explode.

This was my initial reaction. It says the oldest sibling was extremely confused because of the skin difference. I get a horrible feeling that confusion'll turn into something worse when he grows up. But I don't want to be a pessimist about this, this is a scientific miracle.
