After watching Brentalfloss' latest song, it reminded me how great the classic FF games were (I-VI) and how terrible the newer ones have become. (X-XIII)
I think Squeenix should just give up trying to recapture the magic of the classics while at the same time trying to reinvent everything about the game. Instead, I think most of the longterm FF fans would be happier with remakes of the classics every few years. I know I would.

That video is a little gay. Then again I'm a little gay for the older Final Fantasies. So I kinda liked it.

If I-VI are the classics and X-XIII are terrible, what are VII to IX?

Meh, VII was the first PS1 game I played, so I like it. But once I beat it, I don't think I ever want to play it again. VIII just annoyed the ever loving piss out of me and IX was really well presented, at least what I saw of it as I never finished it. I haven't even bothered with any of the ones after that, I saw my sister playing X and almost gagged.

I love the old Final Fantasy Games and VII was the most recent one I've obsessed over. My question is though, why is it so tempting and Satisfying to purchase a remake of the original Final Fantasy? I've got all of the remakes except the PSP version and I'm tempted to get a pre-owned copy... Also I hate the term Squeenix.

I'm sorry, but as much as I love VI and V, even the original, I also love X. Just looked beautiful, had a great story and some pretty cool characters. I would say I missed the ATB element of the games but after playing a game like lost odyssey, ugh, its better in my memories

This. X doesn't deserve any of the crap it gets.

I once almost beat X. Almost. Haven't beaten II, either.

Constant remakes aren't going to keep Squeenix profitable. As much as I love the old games, I'm happy that they do try out new things in an attempt to keep the games interesting and draw in new people.

Like counting CAPCOM style and having 3 different games all with the main title of FF XIII (base game, Agito, and Versus)?

Also This. Tidus was a whiny bitch sometimes, but still. I thought it was a sick game.
First time I fought Jecht and heard the Boss Music for it. I remember thinking how bad ass it was.
I still sometimes Hum that "Hymn of the Faith" if I'm recalling the name of it correctly,

I agree but upon playing the PSP version... it's So much easier up until the Labrinth of time extra dungeon... the puzzles piss me off and the monsters are even stronger. Doesn't help you lose skills and have a time restriction...

I'm sick of hearing shit about the GBA port. It was the PS1 port (which was the perfect version of the game and you can suck my ass if you disagree) with four added dungeons for the price of the loss of the hard mode.
...Oh. Right. The hard mode. Yeah, fuck the MP system and the ability to save wherever you are.
Sorry, I just... That was the first version of Final Fantasy I played, so I have a bit of nostalgia problem with that. I still carry the entire overworld map in my wallet.
