I had seen this when I was very young and since it was the 25th anniversary recently, it was on AMC last night so I watched it and it was definately better than I had remembered.

Did anyone else really like this movie?

I never saw it as a kid but watched it quite a few times in recent years and I love it. I so missed out when I was younger, that movie would have inspired me to run around and be all adventorous

It's not illegal, it might give you some cavities

Didn't see this movie until a few years back. It's been one of my favorites ever since.

The wife and I watched it a couple of months ago and it was just as good now as it was back when I first saw it. Reminded me a lot of childhood, though, which was depressing.

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

I've never seen the Goonies, although I have played the NES game.

I've always hated The Goonies, I don't know why. It wasn't an awful movie by any means, but I never really liked movies starring kids. Sloth was pretty cool and Chunk was alright, but everyone else was just a boring stock character that I couldn't give two shits about. I'm still amazed that that's Josh Brolin.

Ahh the Goonies is a classic!.. I watch it at least once a year. Definitely drums up lots of 80's nostalgia. I hate to admit it but I even love the theme song by Cindy Lauper.

Yes that's Captain Lou Albano of WWF and Super Mario Bros Super Show fame.

There was a period of about four months when I was seven when I would watch the Goonies literally every night, and eventually I could recite the entire movie from memory. Couldn't do that now, though; I haven't seen it in like three years, need to get it out.

Also, the deleted scene where Data sticks a tape player in an octopus's mouth and kills it is priceless.

The most telling thing about The Goonies is that they've never really been able to make -another- movie of the "kids go on an adventure" genre that's anywhere near as good.

Hey you guys!

By today's standards The Goonies is pretty tame '80s fare, but it seems like anyone who watched this as a kid becomes fully obligated to love and respect the movie.

I think it's funny/sad that Chunk was supposed to be this really fat kid...but by today's standards he doesn't look particularly odd.

I probably only like this movie BECAUSE I saw it as a kid. If I saw it now for the first time now I'd probably think it's lame and gay. Like the movie Labyrinth, which I saw for the first time in the last year, and that movie was totally gay.

Labyrinth is great, Bowie is awesome, and Jennifer Connelly is hot. You're gay.
