It's about time they gave us a sequel. I've been waiting with baited breath for the last however many years for some more smart disc killings. Thoughts about how it'll be?

I was watching G4 earlier and they were talking bout how there are different kinds of predators now. That may be what makes or ruins it for me

There were already different types of Predators, what about the elders from the comics and the first AvP? But yeah, within the warrior class... this'll be interesting.

I'll wait til I see some reviews and ultimatley probably wait until it comes out on blu-ray.

It does kind of look like a throw-back to the original Predator, which is kinda cool.

There's just something about that movie that it just doesn't inspire confidence.

Mentioned it before, but there's no way they can allow for this movie to be done well without dumbing down the Predators themselves. The reason the original worked so well was because less was more, when you have an army of these fucking things...it makes it a little more difficult tell a story.

When you consider every movie featuring Predators save the original, it's pretty hard to have any sort of confidence in another upcoming sequel.

probably that movie sucks ass, but I'll go and watch it anyway. oh hell, adrian brody besides arnie, give's me a fucking shiver down my spine. well maybe he gets awfully his ass ripped into pieces. theres hope.

but then again, he saw avatar at midnight and said it was one of the best movies he's ever seen.

I saw both of the avp movies and it didnt take away my desire to see this, so i doubt adrian brody will dent my enthusiasm. more than anything, Im going because rodriguez is doing it. the man hasnt made a bad movie that ive seen yet

Yeah I would seriously doubt the credibility of anyone who says that. I want Predators to be cool because that franchise needs a good rebooting after the AvP movies, but I'm skeptical.

hell, look at this guy. he looks like an 30 year old skinny role model with one special add wich is a penis. i'am really wondering why they did take him.

I didn't think Predator 2 was that bad. Between Danny Glover's profanity and Gary Busey's Gary-Busey-ness there was enough to entertain me.

After watching the trailer, this might not actually be half bad. It really looks like they've tried to reestablish the feel of the first Predator. Certainly nothing like that AVP crap. Pretty sure I want to see this now.

I saw it yesterday, awesome movie. But I'm the sort of guy who can like just about anything he watches. And there were some strange parts, but they really put back the feel of the first movie. Also. SPOILERS: Samurai duel between Japanese guy and a Predator. That's all I want to say at this point. END SPOILERS.

Also, the 'two different types of Predators' isn't that relevant to the movie... I think... but it is mentioned and garners some attention.

I saw it too and really liked it. It was slow paced like the original and had a lot of tension. Overall I think it is the best Predator movie since the original but that really does not say a whole lot, even though I did enjoy Predator 2.

just got back from seeing it and it was a solid film. good action and the acting was great. topher grace and lawrence fishburne were my favorites to be honest and when has that ever happened? id give it a solid 7.5 out of 10

Yea, I love Predator 2, it was just on the other night.

I found Predator 2 to be way scarier than the original in the sense that it was much more palpable to me.

How often would I be stranded with my buddies in the jungle? Probably never. How often would I be walking around a city? Much more often, the scene wear Predator shreds all those people on the Subway scared the shit out of me.

Also, Danny Glover did a fantastic job, his one-on-one showdown with the predator is awesome. Busey was just icing on the cake.

In many ways I prefer Predator 2 over the original.

I enjoyed "Predators," but it's really pretty stupid. A few relatively spoiler-free points:

In the original "Predator", the film not only told us the main characters were badasses, it showed us by having them take on the guerrillas. Here we're supposed to just take their word for it. Nope.
Jesus, there's a point where aping the original film stops being homage and starts becoming proof that you just don't know what you're doing. Characters say and do things from "Predator" without any of the motivation that the original characters had. I mean, we're talking Bruno Mattei levels of missing the point.
Why are there two kinds of Predators? Oh that's right: no reason.
How in HELL did the Predators choose these specific people?! Seriously, they make a big deal about it but it makes absolutely no effing sense. Are there millions of Predators sneaking around Earth in fedoras and trench coats looking for cold-hearted killers that fit their criteria? Are they watching CNN? Hacking into military databases with Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie? It's freaking ludicrous.

2. I was actually okay with this. The film was originally conceived as a remake, and this was better alternative than a remake/reboot.
3. I believe technically all FOUR Predators were different.
4. I like to think of Predators as an alternate reality of LOST.

i saw this movie sunday. it was my second movie of the day (preceded by Grown Ups & followed by Inception) and im at odds w/this movie

i have some of the same issues that DarkMaze had. especially 1 & 4. overall the movie had some decent action scenes (robert rodriguez knows how to direct decent action sequences) but ultimately i wasnt totally satisfied with the movie.

first off, i think they miscast the movie. adrien brody is not a badass. granted, he is ripped, but i just dont see him kicking ass. i see him more as a hugh grant type of actor vs an action star. but thats just my gripe. that hispanic chick was unnecessary but whatev. danny trejo is a badass. that russian guy was a badass. that asian guy was a badass. that convict? not so much. he was annoying really. topher grace? fuck no hes not badass.

and then out of that bad casting job, they kill off the coolest ones. but again, thats just me.

oh yeah, larry fishburnes character was annoying. he never explains how he learned to use their camo tech. he doesnt really explain what he lives off of. you just kind of have to accept it.

also, according to IMDB, there were 3 types of predators: berserker, tracker, & classic.

and really?! how did they choose these people?! as darkmaze explained, in the original, they showed all these badasses kicking some guerilla ass. here, we just have to agree they're badass?! fuck that noise. and in the original they ALL looked like badasses. we had buff ass arnold, buff ass carl weathers, jesse ventura, random indian guy etc etc.

sigh... overall, the movie was a decent action flick. but since the mythology of the predators has been expanded upon since the original movie, i think they shouldve had more depth than what this movie represented. but thats just me.

it did have a sweet sword fight though.
