Actually there is a way to make OoT unwinnable. If you get rid of all the bombchu's in the game before you finish it (including the ones in ganons castle) then it becomes unwinnable

How does that make the game unwinnable? It's not like you really need the Bombchu's aside from one or two spots in the game.

There is a spot in Gannon's castle where you have to use Bombchu's to get a bomb to an area.
It can't be hit with anything else.

Really the Water Temple isnt THAT hard, and it's not like any other OOT dungeons were difficult to begin with.

Can't you buy bombchus?

The game is unwinnable if you use that glitch to put bottles over necessary items.

You can buy bombchus. I know the dude on the flying carpet sells them, and I'm reasonably sure you can even get them from some dude in castle town.

I loved the bottle trick. I remember being pissed off that there were no fish in Lake Hylia, so I used to turn all of my items into bottles, fill them all with fish, and then go empty them into the lake. It felt so godlike jumping in when I was done and swimming around in an ecosystem of my own creation.

You can glitch through the walls of Gannon's tower by using an Armos statue in one of the rooms to go directly in the center of the tower.
I think it's done with the infinite sword glitch follow by shield-bombing.

What were the bugs that could make the game unwinnable in Twilight Princess? I tested the bridge one and my game doesn't have it, but I don't know about the others.

INCORRECT! I've actually done this one a bajillion times. All you have to do is push the Armos statue in the Spirit Room right next to the door, on either side, then do a jump attack at an angle onto the side of the Armos statue, and you'll slide into the main chamber. There's a video of it somewhere... Here, actually. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox5YJ7kTfEc&feature=related Not very good quality, but it shows you the ropes pretty well.

No one complained when they made a harder version of OoT. I don't see why making an easier version (not that that seems like what this is, but just for the sake of argument) would be any different.

I actually found Master Quest's Water Temple easier than the original. =P

But yeah, Aonuma doesn't actually mention that he'll make it easier, he's just promising to make taking off the Iron Boots less tedious.

Aonuma's most evil shame, of course, was Wind Waker. I also remember reading somewhere that he got frustrated with the original Zelda and didn't complete it. And yet, this is the guy directing the series, despite discrediting it's roots?

I don't see how finding the original game frustrating is the same as discrediting the roots. And wind waker was a good game.

The Water Temple is fine - sure it was tricky playing it as a kid, but that's part of what made the game fun.

Majora's Mask had a water type dungeon as well which in my opinion was much harder, though you don't see anyone complaining about that. Probably because everyone is too busy fawning over Ocarina of Time to remember the true Zelda masterpiece.

GameSpy: Were you a fan of the original Legend of Zelda on the Famicom?

Aonuma: Actually, as I mentioned at the Game Developers Conference, I could not stand the original Zelda.

When I first played it, I did not know what I was doing. I was overwhelmed by enemies and I got killed right away. It's not like I was a horrible game player or a great game player, but I did not know what to do and I kept dying and dying, so I ended up tossing the game away.

I don't know about you, but "tossing the game away" counts to me as having little regard for the series' roots.

I personally never liked Wind Waker, and while I generally like to attribute it to Aonuma taking on the role as director, he also directed Majora's Mask (my favorite in the series), so my opinion of him is mixed.

I always thought that trick was really stupid. If you got all the hearts you barely needed one bottle, let alone four.

If I remember right, that glitch is somewhat related to the Master Glitch, and you had to use it to get Swordless Link after the first two versions of the game were released, since you couldn't do it by saving after losing the Master Sword to Ganon in v1.2.
