I just saw this last night for the second time, it had been years since my first viewing and I liked it a lot. I really liked the story, setting and acting but I think the biggest thing might be the pacing. It's not too long at an hour and a half and it seems like there's always something important happening, not too much filler.
I was wondering what others thought of it.

Assume this is in reference to the "4 boys search for a dead body" movie, not the "Joe Clark turns around dysfunctional inner city high school" version?
Pretty good movie, haven't seen it in a long time myself.

The one with Morgan Freeman was called "Lean On Me".
Also not to be confused with "Stand And Deliver" starring Edward James Olmos.

Oh shit you're right, my bad.
What a lame first post by me. In my defense, I was just trying to make sure I got a post in before 30 days expired and my account got deleted, haha.

LOL I always confused the two movies, although the only one I saw was "Stand By Me". I wasn't a huge fan though, I never saw the appeal of River Phoenix, the dude was more popular in death than he ever was alive. What a joke.

I thought that it was really well done, and with a lot of Stephen King's earlier movies, especially the made for TV versions like the It miniseries, they actually broke a lot of new kid actors that became really great later on in life. I think Seth Green played young Ritchie in It, per example. I wish they'd hurry up and make a Cell movie already.

Funny I just watched it the other night with my girlfriend. I love that movie. I've seen it too many times to count and although somewhat morbid it did a fantastic job of capturing a lot of elements of youth. The acors did a great job in their roles.
Will Wheaton ( of Star Trek TNG fame) as Gordy, the sensitive storyteller.
River Phoenix ( of choking on his own vomit outside a L.A. nightclub fame) as Chris, the leader kid.
Jerry O'Connell (of Sliders fame) as Vern; the goofy fat kid that every one picks on.
Corey Feldman a (of being the Corey who is still alive fame) as Teddy; the crazy troubled kid.
I always wanted to go on an adventure like that when I was a kid..maybe not a quest to see a dead body but hey..The journey's the thing.

Dude seriously? I can't even talk to you until you see that movie. The movie was classic. One of the best movies of the eighties. Of course I grew up in the eighties which is probably why I find the story and characters so relatable.

Such a good movie. The Barf-o-rama scene is probably my favorite part. Lardass! Lardass! Lardass!
