Did anyone see this movie? I haven't seen the comics, but I thought it was epic, but stupid at some parts, and REALLY short. It's like, 70, maybe 80 minutes? Anyway, it apparently got universally negative reviews, but despite being short, and the fact he has a horse mounted with Gatling guns, I thought it was well worth the money.
Who saw the movie? What did you think about it?

The guys from Reviews on the Run gave it a 0.5/10. Based on that and all of the other negative reviews I just don't think I'm going to see it, although I really like John Malkovich.

WOW. 0.5/10? I think that's a bit harsh LOL. I thought it okay though. So did the friends I saw it with.

You're the first person that I have heard say it was not horrible. I also just read in another thread that you're 14. That doesn't instill confidence in me that I'll enjoy this movie, no offense.
I am a comics fan and would usually plunk down money for any comic book movie, but this looked atrocious to me. Jonah Hex is a solid comic book, too. I immediately dropped it to rental status after initial reviews, then eventually to 'skip completely' after a friend of mine saw it. Maybe if I hear a couple more people seeing it and thinking it was at least OK I'll check it out on DVD.

Eh, it's not just cause I'm 14. My friend who is 19, and a die-hard comic fan at that, said it was good too. Megan Fox is still a slut though, tehe.
I don't know, maybe it's just my opinion. Like I said, there were quite a few stupid parts, such as the Gatling guns on the horse, as I mentioned, and how as soon as he resurrects a certain guy, the guy attempts to kill Jonah. What are they trying to say, that the dead can still react to their surroundings, but they can't actually move? I can't really word it right, but maybe you'll get the point.

Holy crap... the reviews are unbelievably bad.
I'll see it when it is on repeat for four months in a row on HBO.

This doesn't instill in me any confidence in the movie whatsoever. Also, 0.5/10 seems just a tiny bit harsh.

I think this ended up being one of those "Megan Fox + Something Teenage Guys like (even though it's an obscure comic) = $$$" things.
It's not like M. Night Shamalayan, where he's actually trying. This was a summer cash cow with probably no substance.

Well, if you know me, (which you don't, but whatever) you'd know I HATE Megan Fox, and would have preferred to see some better actress in Jonah Hex, as she was just eye candy.
I don't even see what's so attractive about her. I know girls in school that are sexier than her.

I saw an ad with Megan Fox being slutty and a gattling horse, that's all I ever need to see about that movie. Ever. A shame, I always thought that episode of the Batman Animated series with him in it was pretty cool and piqued my interest in the character. For one, they didn't fuck his face up enough in the movie, in the animated series he looked like half of Two Face.

man you guys are picky. that gatling horse doesn't play the mainpart of the movie, you probably see it about 2 times in the movie for 10 to 20 seconds. well, megan fox is a hooker i agree with that.

Nononono, the fact that it's there AT ALL is my problem with it. It's fucking stupid and just Hollywood making excuses to put explosions and gunfire where it's unnecessary.

Mainly the idea came from the Italo-Western Django where the maincharacter kills the bad guys with his gatlinggun.
Because of the fame of the movie, imaginative people like comic drawers would associate Cowboys with gatlingguns. So its not Hollywood, its just ideas.

Jonah Hex is a DC IP, not Marvel.
I wasn't too enthused about this in the first place. I mean yeah it's a comic book, but it's about a guy who has always played support/wasn't the main hombre in all his animated appearances. Covering the Marvel side I hear talk of an Iron Fist movie, Iron Fist fits in at about the same level. Any movie with him had better have Luke Cage in it as well. Getting back on track, it looks like missing both this and Last Airbender have been good moves.

How many comic book movies based on characters that the normal everyday person know has been successful? Or good? I'm asking a dead serious question.

What about Spider-man, Batman (Nolan's ones at the very least), and maybe the first Superman movie?

I meant the exact opposite. My bad. Like this movie, Daredevil, shit like that was what I meant. Characters that the everyday person CAN'T name.

Got confused there. Last two movies I've seen are Iron Man 2 and Jonah Hex, so, got the two mixed up.
