These are the free prizes for North American Club Nintendo members who attained Platinum and Gold Status. The Gold prize, just like last year, is a crappy calendar. The Platinum Prize is a neat Mario statue. It is 3.9" high and 4.6" wide. Not as cool as some of the Japanese prizes, but it's a step in the right direction.

Last year was a free game.
And there are games you can buy with your Club points.

I love that statue, did not have near enough points to get there though so I held off on uploading recently purchased items to Club Nintendo.
I had way more points last year...

My asshole friend called me the other day asking me to give him the numbers of games I bought since he knew I didn't care. After seeing that statue, I kind of regret it.

I almost didn't have enough points! I registered everything that wasn't nailed down last year and handily made Platinum Status. This year, when G&W Collection 2 came out, I filled out all the surveys I never took so I could get it. I assumed, since the game cost 800 points, that I had hit Platinum. But I hadn't, because I had still had like 390 points left over from last year. Luckily, I checked my Rewards Level when Nintendo sent out a reminder e-mail at the beginning of June and I ended up hitting it. So yay, free statue.

Damnit, I was lucky to reach Gold level this year. That statue is a lot better than the Mario Hat or even Doc Louis' Punch-Out!! (since the game never saves your progress so you can keep fighting Doc at his best).

Aww man, I had way more points last year, was easily able to get Platinum. Practically nothing this year since I didn't wait to register some of my products so they didn't count towards this year's Elite club. Oh well, maybe next year will be even better.

Well, I got the statue, obviously. After all, it has the Mario cast on it. |

I got screwed, I bought Battalion Wars 2, to put me over 600 and into Platinum but when I registered it 2 weeks ago, it said it didn't count. The game was new, had a PIN number and published by Nintendo so I have no idea what the problem is. Oh well, a shitty calender I'll never use is on it's way.
This was my first year trying the Club Nintendo thing, seems like a ripoff spending hundreds of dollars a year to get a $10 trinket while Japanese users get some really awesome stuff like those SNES classic controllers. That is a nice statue though.

The controllers are points items. I do agree we need them. Most of the prizes you can buy in North America are crap.

This, the only thing I've spent coins on were the Zelda and Mario posters.

Only things I've spent coins on are the two G&W collections. I kinda want a stylus set and some Hanafuda cards, but I'll probably just get them off eBay and save my coins for when something cooler comes out.
