Some of these are not cameos by any means (eg Yoda/Vader in Soul Calibur)
A cameo is by definition a brief appearance, not a main focus point.

List doesn't include Revenge of Shinobi? Or Duke Nukem? FAIL.
Also, someone explain the Frank West cameo.

from 1up.com:
| Quote: |
| In the new DLC "The Passing" for Left 4 Dead 2, Frank West from Capcom's Dead Rising makes an appearance of sorts via a note scrawled on a wall of a safe house. His note reads "Otis, Out of film, no helicopter. Zombies are too fast. Not going to make it. - Frank West." This is why Valve kicks ass, by pulling at the right heartstrings and keeping it all tongue-in-cheek. |

The Shinobi one was good. Batman and Spiderman were obvious copyright infringement though and they were forced to remove them. The second release of it replaced those two bosses.

Godzilla and The Terminator are in there too. And you're incorrect. The second release replaced the fake Batman, but changed it to resemble another fictional anime character, Devilman. The third release actually changed the Spidey-like boss -to- Spider-man, since they had the Marvel license and got permission.
As for the list, meh. Learn what a cameo is, then come back with a list.

The DK in the crowd one in Punch-Out!! Wii would be a good choice, if he didn't appear as an opponent later....

Yeah, Spider-Man was actually officially license at one point, as was Devilman, who as it's been said, replaced Batman. Godzilla was not licensed, as was replaced with a skeletal dinosaur in the fourth release.
Also, Big The Cat in the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure 2.
The Frank West thing sounds lame. Haha, their guy got killed by our zombies, because our zombies are cooler. Real mature.
And since no one's commented on Duke Nukem, let me explain. In hidden areas in Duke Nukem 3D, you find the corpses of Luke Skywalker, Indiana Jones, Doom Guy, and a T-800.
In Duke Nukem 64, Butt-Head will talk to you over the drive thru speaker. The N64 version still features Indy, Doom Guy, and the T-800 corpses, but replaces Luke with Yoda, and adds Snake Plissken's corpse. Hannibal Lecter can be found in the prison level, very much alive. He just stands there though.

Butt-Head talks to you in the PC version as well, it was on the episode titled "The Birth". I definitely had more fun with Duke Nukem 64 because when I didn't have friends over it was so sweet playing against the bots.

Also the main boss to the game, which was a huge let down. He doesn't belong in that world.

The Life In Hell bunnies in the the Simpsons Arcade game were pretty cool.
Also, the hidden developers' rooms in King's Quest IV and Final Fantasy IV were pretty cute.
The Frank West thing isn't a cameo anymore than the Jill's Sandwiches stand in Dead Rising is a cameo. You have to ACTUALLY appear for it to be a cameo.
Kano and Sonya in MK2 could arguably be considered a cameo. Sure, there was a storyline reason why they weren't playable, but the fact that they actually appeared in-game led to wild rumors about how to unlock them.
Username, as for the second list:
1. Shadow of the Colossus wasn't ahead of its time; Ico was.
2. X should be replaced with Faceball 2000. 16 player multiplayer on the original Gameboy? Fucking insane.
3. Tobal No 1. has no business being on the list, especially not higher than Virtua Fighter. It's redundant, and it sucked.
4. The rest of list is pretty solid.

Although i haven't played every single game on the list, it looks alright to me.
SoTC made big monsterous bosses to a videogame standard, but the idea was nothing new, so it was definitely not ahead of his time.

hehe, i thought this avatar would freak most people out. that is why i did chose it.
Giant Boss fights are as old as videogames are, you have them in a lot of games, even i could think of a lot of titles. In SoTC the mainview lies on bigass boss fights, so that is why i always gets mentioned. But new and ahead of his time? not at all. the most outstanding thing about SoTC is the feeling of freedom the game gives you. for a guy growing up on the country its kinda perfect. Wild animals, a wide view, climbing, an animal companion. they got it all.
sorry for editing the post 4 times.

Well yea, that I know. But trying to say that two random characters are the avatars of Mario and Luigi? Just...no.
