I didn't see it yet because I have no cash and am a lazy bastard, but who did? I'm hearing unanimous acclaim for this and I'm just making sure. =P

Also, yeah I'm back (on the forums), took a self-imposed sabbatical for no reason whatsoever.

I might rent it when it comes out on DVD. I really didn't care much for the second movie, but hold the first movie in high regard for what it did at the time. But honestly, I just can't do that anymore for kids movies. When I saw the second movie, I couldn't appreciate it as much because I had grown up. Sounds silly, but it's the truth.

It's Pixar. It's Toy Story. I'm sure it's great and getting 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. Like Dodds, kids movies aren't really my bag, so I'll be giving it a pass.

Is it weird that I've never seen any of them? I've also never seen Top Gun. Go figure.

The thing about Pixar movies (especially this one) is that it's supposed to hit ya right in the heart, whether you're 5, 25, 45, or on your deathbed. It's the very wide appeal/audience that makes them so successful.

But whatever floats your boats, I guess.

I am big on animation as a storytelling medium, and pixar is one of the best.

I've pieced together the plot of 3 by working in a toy store and having to deal with roughly a million themed items from action figures to Snuggies. I actually read the polt synopsis on Wiki a few days ago and found that I had correctly guessed about some things just by small things like a Matchbox garbage truck that has Lotso attached to the grill for some reason and thought about how sometimes garbagemen will do that with stuffed animals, only to read that in the movie a garbageman finds him and does exactly that.

Glad I didn't really read the thread this time.

I haven't even seen the second one. I don't have much faith in Disney sequels. Are 2 and 3 really good enough?

It's crazy that nobody has seen the second one, I haven't seen it either.

Loved the first two, don't know if I'll see the third.

As I remarked on Twitter a few weeks ago: "If Toy Story 3 isn't a wholesale rip-off of The Brave Little Toaster, I'm not interested."

Well, I read spoilers on Wikipedia and it's not. And I'm not at all a fan of the ending as it was explained on Wikipedia. So... meh.

Maybe when it comes to VHS.

I love the Brave Little Toaster. I used to find that movie somewhat unsettling and scary in some parts.

Yeah, the Brave Little Toaster was fantastic. And it taught me a valuable lesson: never ever throw anything out or give it away, because your possessions love you as much as you love them, if not moreso.

i loved the brave little toaster as well, but as sideway mentioned, it was creepy in certain parts.

Remember the part where the lonely flower fell in love with the toaster's reflection? That part was so sad...

That was half the fun! A good children's movie should be able to both terrify and amuse you. And most of the kid movies from that era did. The Neverending Story, Short Circuit 2, and The Land Before Time are other good examples of that.

I saw it and thought it was really good. I could not rememebr seeing Toy Story 2, but it HAS been 11 years since it came out. One of the better movies released this year.

Spanish Buzz was funny Very Happy

Dude, this movie was so good. Just saw it with the lady and I was probably closer to crying than she was. Also, I'm a pussy.

I concur, Spanish Buzz was hilarious.

I'm not sure this movie was made for kids, though, I think it was made for the people who were kids when Toy Story 1 came out. It was pretty disturbing at parts.

Honestly, I'm not sure what part of the movie a kid would enjoy. But I thought it was good.

I've seen the first two countless times (I'm pretty sure I have them on VHS somewhere).

I don't consider this a kids movie, especially after a certain scene near the end. Oh, and everyone in the theater was bawling, and I most definitely teared up. And the Totoro cameo was pretty neat, too.
