Will these two struggling sitcoms make it to a second season? I kinda hope so.

KoP and ICE have been guilty pleasures of mine... Both are pretty funny and both are kinda struggling. ICE hasn't aired in a few weeks and according to TV.com, its next airing is Feb 28, which isn't a good sign for its future. This is a real shame as it starts the super hot Kelly Hu. The rest of the cast is pretty solid too: Jonathan Silverman, Greg Germann, David Arquette, and Lori Loughlin. Speaking of which, Lori Loughlin isn't looking bad these days either. Hell, David Carradine guest-starred on an episode.

I have no clue about those shows, but in the same field, I wonder where Armed & Famous yet. I watched it from the first episode and it was pretty interesting. It's not so shallow like Cops where people get busted. You experience the character development of both the celebrities and the partners with which they are paired. It hasn't been on in weeks either.

I just checked tv.com and it was apparently pulled. I'm not completely surprised. It apparently was getting about a 1.4 in ratings and only half of the people who watched the premiere continued to watch it.

I'm sad. While it was definitely not the greatest show, it was much more interesting than The Class or How I Met Your Mother. God, I need cable.

I f***ing love Knights of Prosperity. It reminds me of the first season of "My Name is Earl" when the show was about below average people coming out on top. The problem is does the show have an audience? I know one other person who watches it, two people who hated it (having only seen the pilot), and about two dozen others who never heard of it.

The second season would have to have a different story arc. I can't see these guys trying to rob Mick Jagger forever. I predict that Jagger will actually give them all jobs at the end of the season. But how would one continue the show? It's like how Daybreak is only 13 episodes long and had no plans for a second season.

You, sir, have lost my respect. you dare to put the words "solid cast", "David Arquette", and "Jonathan Silverman" in the same sentence? BURN IN HELL! BURN!

Yes, that surprised me as well. David Arquette? The star of Ready to Rumble?

I've never heard of the shows though.

Ready To Rumble was a good movie, dammit.

The opening scene where David Arquette has the fantasy match in convenience store is fucking classic.

And watching Sid Vicious and Perry Saturn job to Martin Landau was amazing.

The problem with Ready To Rumble was that it was greenlit when WCW was on top but not released until WCW was at an all-time low. The fact that Vince Russo actually gave David Arquette the title belt was pretty fucking gay too. Vince Russo was a fucking jackass. If it wasn't for his piss-poor booking skills, WCW would probably still be around.

Giving the title to Arquette was a disgrace and a serious defamation to the belt. It loses prestige as you're basically saying, "Well, anyone can get the belt." That was a big hit and I believe that Arquette wasn't totally for the plan. You can't take a belt/title that people shed blood, sweat, and tears over an extended period to earn and just hand it to some wrestling nobody. That has to be one of the dumbest things to ever happen in wrestling. Of course, WCW did have its share of such things during its downfall.

I think probably the worst angle they ever did was the one where wallets were disappearing from the WCW locker room and all the luchadores were forced to unmask as a result. Not only did the angle imply that Mexicans were thieves, it was also incredibly disrepectful to make the luchadores unmask and it drove a lot of talent out of the company. Incidentally, that was also Vince Russo's idea.

I'm shocked and amazed. Confused

I prefer him just walking around with a bat as a manager to being a writer.

Agreed.

And to be fair, he did have some good ideas. He pushed virulently for the reinstatement of Scott Hall, something would have helped the company out greatly and something which WCW President Brad Siegel refused to do. Meanwhile, Hall was still collecting a paycheck from the company.

The main problem with Russo was that too many of his angles were written for the smarks. It was assumed that you as a fan understood the nature of backstage politics and knew that guys like Hogan and Nash had an immense amount of pull backstage. The New Blood VS. The Millionaire's Club angle was a good idea in concept, but the execution was less so. Russo excepted the New Blood to be regarded as the faces, but the fans preferred the heroes of old, and who could blame them? When Mike Awesome showed up and attacked a limping Kevin Nash who had returned early from a knee injury, how could anyone NOT side with Nash? The New Blood came off as whiny and selfish to the casual fan, and that's the way they should have been portrayed; as history has shown us, a dominant heel force is almost always good for ratings. Russo claimed that the angle didn't work because the older talent refused to put over the new talent. And yet, three months prior he had opted not to renew Randy Savage's contract despite Savage's willingness to do just that.

The other problem was Russo's need for total control. When Russo first declared a new era was dawning in WCW, he brought in Eric Bischoff as his on-screen partner. Bischoff's charismatic smirky character perfectly complimented Russo's coarse New Yorker persona. Unfortunately, the Deadly Alliance barely lasted two months as Russo gave Bischoff little input and seemed more interested in creating swerves he hoped would get people talking then coming up with a longterm booking strategy.

What about Shane Douglas vs. Billy Kidman in a "Viagra on a pole" match?

Why has no one shown any love for Oliver Platt!? He was the best thing about the film!

Indeed, Oliver Platt is awesome. Have you ever seen The Impostors?

I bet the only bad thing about being Oliver Platt is that like half of the roles you'd be good in end up going to Mark Boone Jr.

"The Impostors" was actually my favorite movie not from 1987 for awhile. I still will see Stanley Tucci in anything (Oooooh, Prada...).

The other bad thing about being Oliver Platt would involve being in "The Ice Harvest" - Chicago's shame...

Aw... I enjoyed The Ice Harvest. But then again, I'll watch just about anything with John Cusack in it. Notice how said "just about anything". Sorry Must Love Dogs, Serendipity, and America's Sweethearts.

I saw at least two of those. "America's Sweethearts" is worth it just for Christopher Walken at the beginning and end.

Phenomenal show.

"In Act 2 the robot falls in love!"

I'm even enjoying The Class a lot, which I thought was going to suck.

As for CBS Monday night comedies, if you don't count CSI: Miami, here's my preference order.

1. Rules of Engagement
2. Two and a Half Men
3. How I Met Your Mother
4. The Class

The only time I'll stop watching something else to watch one of the above is at Two and a Half Men since Rules of Engagement follows. I wish The Class was before How I Met Your Mother, because I would might for HIMYM to run into the other two, but I won't stop anything for The Class.

I still miss Everybody Loves Raymond. I don't catch the reruns because of their times. When I want something really good, I just watch Arrested Development, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, etc. My friend is going to be burning a copy of season 1 of the American version of The Office soon, so that'll be a nice addition.

Knights has been cancelled. I'm hoping ABC.com will put the remaining episodes online...
Although, I hear Fox will release the 13 episodes of "Kitchen Confidential" on DVD. I hate how a network deems a show unworthy of airwaves and then turns around and releases it on DVD!
