Apparently a lower-end model should be released in the coming months for $100 less.
Also, Xbox-ringed discs cannot be repaired. The scratches are DEEP and circular and even 3 passes in the buffer doesn't help. If they were vertical from center to edge, it probably wouldn't be a big issue.

Forget all this talk about vertical and horizontal consoles, I demand a floating console!

When my bud kicked over my 360 on accident, it got scratched up, but a single buffer at Hastings fixed it up rather well. Maybe I'm just lucky.
And, yes, I demand the next generation of consoles to float in midair.

My copy of Overlord II got ringed bad. After 3 passes in the buffer, I can still feel the scratch in the disc if I touch it.
If your console floats in midair, it doesn't prevent you from accidentally bumping into it, unless you stick it up against the ceiling.

Found a good article about the new 360 model. To sum it up it's a good upgrade if you want Kinect and built-in wireless, but if not then there's not much it has above the Elite models aside from lower power consumption and noise.
Well I got the new xbox after my gamestop was backed up in orders for almost a month. I like it ok, it's the same beast with a new shell so it's nothing too,too exciting. Though if you are like me and have a system going on two years with a smaller than 250 harddrive it may be worth it to upgrade.
Also, since when are people moving consoles with discs in them? I was always taught not to do that. I mean yeah protection from scratching would be nice but still.
