What ever happened to Andrew Dice Clay? He was the most successful stand-up comic in the world from 1989-1991. Then, after a successful career spanning two decades, he just disappeared! Bring him back!

He was actually in that "One Night at McCool's" movie. He also appeared on Tom Green's internet show not too long ago. After Tom very lightly tapped him, ADC went on a whine-athon about how Tom shouldn't hit people, he even said his neck hurt from it. Totally serious.

I don't think he'll ever be mainstream again. His whole mysogyonistic/homophobic routine wouldn't fly in today's PC Hollywood.

idk, todays humor is fickle and it seems as though that un-PC crap is flying again. look at family guy, south park, dave chappelles last stand up. he made fun of indians and that was hilarious.

Yea there's some truth to that. But I still think that if Dice got up on stage and did his usual routine, the feminists and white knights would be up in arms. Sean Penn would not be amused.

that would only help his career if anything.

Ha, good point. If he came to town, I'd buy a ticket.

I thought Dice was funny when I was a kid, but not now. I guess excessive swearing and insult comedy just doesn't do it for me anymore.

i was going to say 'whatever happened to melissa joan hart' (she was my first tv crush!) but then I remembered she's actually still in all kinds of stuff.

Then I was going to say 'whatever happened to hilary duff!' and then I remembered she's also in all kinds of stuff still (she's also pretty hot!)

i'm just going to settle for 'whatever happened to tia carrera and the chick from even stevens'

I'd like to know what ever happened to Alex from Welcome Freshman, but then I remembered there was a pic floating around that shows she works at a law firm now.

He's got some decent range. It's a shame he typecast himself, he actually got decent critical reviews for his work in Casual Sex and Crime Story, where he broke his normal routine.

Because I liked him as a kid, I'll check those out. I'd like to add a few points of respect for him.

I don't think Clay is funny personally, so I say good riddance. As to why he disappeared I guess it was part of the snl controversy and the bombing of his movie.

Also from the youtube comments we have come full circle
"Did people back in the day really find Andrew Dice Clay funny? He reminds me of Joe Pesci in Goodfellas, constantly looking for trouble in the slightest of occurrences. At least Pesci was acting, this Clay guy is just a prick. "

Clay was acting too. He was a Jewish kid from New York, and he playing a Jersey Italian stereotype.

Insinuating that Clay wasn't playing a stereotype and that's actually how he acted in his real life.

I think the issue is he clings desperately to that character. In the tom green interview he claims he quit smoking years ago yet he still clings on the cigarette because it's part of the character. I feel like it's almost foreboding of Larry the cable guy who does the same.
