Before anyone complains, this is not a full list of releases up through year's end. Several high profile titles such as Green Day: Rock Band, Lego Harry Potter, and Nintendo's own Sin & Punishment: Star Successor are missing from it.

I saw one very exciting surprise on that list though: The Conduit 2!

The only thing that disappointed me was there's still no sign of a new F-Zero game.

Otherwise, aces. Especially the new DKC, Metroid and Zelda.

Epicly agreed, especially since the last one that was released was Climax and it never got a freaking state-side release. Seriously, fuck whoever decided on refusing us access to the best 2D F-Zero.

Supposedly God Hand 2 was revealed in the Capcom Conference, is there any evidence/proof of that for me?

Mega Man 2, Yoshi's Island Among Retro Games Teased for 3DS

Nintendo had a ton of new games and demos to demonstrate the 3DS at E3 this week, but one particularly curious demo reel showed off not just a lot of older games, but really older games -- all from the NES and SNES era.

As Kotaku reports, this reel included Mega Man 2, Castlevania, Urban Champion, Kid Icarus, Yoshi's Island, Smash Ping Pong, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Tennis, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Mystery of Murasame Castle. They all were shown with 3D effects that gave them a "pop-up book feel," and when asked whether they were all actually planned for eventual release on the 3DS, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said that yes, yes they were.

He also said not to think of them as full-blown "remakes," but that they might be "potentially getting more than just ported over." Other than that, there weren't any other details on this gaggle of planned old-school rereleases, so there's no telling when or how they'll be coming (this is pure conjecture, but perhaps they'll be released as downloadable games, like the Wii's Virtual Console?).

Meanwhile, you can read our impressions of all of Nintendo's other 3DS games and demos shown at E3 this week right here. No official price or release date for the 3DS has been announced yet.

interesting.

Yea, heard about this. Sounds pretty sweet.

Also, An F-Zero game would look awesome on well done stereoscopic 3D.

That's gotta be part of some Wario Ware game.

Hirai unimpressed by 3D handheld displays | Game Development | News by Develop
Quote:
He said: "We want to make sure we get it right as opposed to being there first and - with portables - there's still a lot of tweaking that needs to happen from a research and development perspective.

"We've looked at a lot of the current technologies available and all of them have an issue of perception where you have to hold the console in exactly the right place to get the 3D effect and it's a bit of a challenge to maintain that 3D experience."

3DS was detailed just hours before a Sony press conference that failed to offer any major detail, software aside, on what might lay ahead for the PSP, Sony's handheld games device. It is widely thought the firm is working on a PSP2, but it has yet to officially confirm the device's development.

First off, I am a Sony fan, but not a PSP one, for the most part the software is completely lacking. I have also grown to love the touch screen.

Also, they have not even dropped a release date for the 3DS, so there is still plenty of time for tinkering.

Another thing, what is so difficult about holding your handheld in the ideal angle to game? Jesus Christ, why would you wanna play on some awkward angle, people are so fucking lazy these days.

Awesome. Only reason I remember that is I snuck a Rabbit Algebra reference into my high school year book's Math page.
