While they're at it, they should remake Battletoads and take out the jetbike levels, remake Castlevania III and eliminate the kickback when you get hit, remake Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and take out all of Zero's Missions, and remake God of War and get rid of that stupid sword battle with Aeries.

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

I was 12 when I played OoT and didn't have a problem o.o

Being that I was, at the time, the only person I knew with a N64, the fact that people consider it hard it's still relatively new to me.

EDIT: I do remember losing my way for awhile in the Shadow Temple.

It's too late now because you haven't been PAYING ATTENTION.

Yeah, Water Temple was tougher than most of the temples, but I don't think it needs to be dumbed down. It's not that hard. The game as a whole is fairly easy so I don't like the idea of making it easier.

According to the article, they'll make it easier to change gear with the touchscreen, so you won't have to open the menu every five seconds.
And the Water Temple is hard to figure out, but exploring and figuring stuff out is a major part of the Zelda series.
There's no point in dumbing it down just because people suck at video games or are too lazy to try solving puzzles.
It's not like there's any way to make the game unwinnable, like in Link's Awakening or Twilight Princess.

Honestly, I played through this game twice back in the day with no guide or anything and I don't recall ever being THAT challenged by it. The Water Temple in TP on the other hand...

Seriously, I was young when this came out. I had almost zero problems with the temple... the exception being Dark Link's annoying habit of blocking my HAMMER.

They had better not. I thought they were done dumbing games down for us "pathetic Americans" or whatever in the 90s. Granted, this probably applies to all versions, but it's still a bunch of crap. Money-grubbing bastards.

I had a bit of trouble with the Water Temple but it wasn't that bad. However, the master quest version of it from that GC disc was actually one of the easiest dungeons of all the 3D Zeldas. I never even found the map for that place, was like a strait shot to the boss.

If all they do is implement touchscreen controls put on/remove the iron boots, then I'm all for it.

I would prefer if they leave the temple layout as it is, though.

The water temple wasn't that hard. I thought the one in Majora's Mask was harder.

If Eiji finds it hard to live with the design of the Water Temple in OoT, then why are the water temples in Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess also just as hard/confusing?

I don't think its that the Water Temple was HARD, guys; it was just that it SUCKED and was no fun to play because of all the backtracking, trial and error and equipment switching. I passed it too as a kid, but it was the only part of OoT I wanted to end. If they want to fix that and make it more palatable, I say God bless 'em. Its not like you can't play the original if you want.

Handling the Iron Boots is not nearly as inconvenient as having to switch out ROMs in La-Mulana or changing swords in Crystalis.

I never thought the Water Temple in any Zelda game was hard. Tedious? Yes. But can you beat them? Yes.

Great Bay was the most time consuming of the three, especially if you were trying to get all the fairies, but you could still beat it.

OoT...I actually stopped playing the game for a while because of that one key I could never find (the one under the platform that rises with the water), but after I found it I didn't think it was that hard. It was tedious with the boots, sure, and Dark Link somehow became harder to kill over the years, but I can think of much worse.

The Water Temple in OoT >>>The Control mission in Goldeneye.

If anything when Nintendo is remaking that game they should make Natalya bulletproof.

You never had to change swords mid-dungeon or mid-battle in Crystalis.

There were lots of times where you would have to switch between swords to fight the basic enemies, thankfully none of the bosses.

idk.... that Control mission in Goldeneye wasnt that hard once you got a rhythm going. what was hard was getting that invincibility cheat. beating stage 3 or whatever in under 2 minutes is FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE. ive seen videos of people doing it, but i could never ever beat it myself.

i was able to beat the full game on 00 agent mode though.

I remember Control being kind of hard the first time through when you had to protect Natalya while she was hacking was the only part I had an issue with. I eventually found that you could easily funnel enemies if you didn't break the glass in the center so they would have to come in from the sides.

I never got the invincibility cheat to unlock but the hardest one I got was invisibility by beating Archives in 1:20 on 00 Agent.

I eventually just got a Gameshark and unlocked the other cheats using that.

The real question for this remake shouldn't be about the WT, it should be, "have they made Navi less annoying?"

Good call. I remember when you fight Ganondorf at the end of the game and Navi says something like "I can't help you because of the dark magic." I actually yelled "Thank God!"

Yeah, you have to change swords constantly in the caves.

I've actually gotten the invincibility cheat. But I couldn't beat the Control mission without Game Shark. (though I'm not sure how much it actually helped, considering there was no "Natalya doesn't die" cheat).
