THE BAD
Wii Party - So it's Mario Party with Miis? What, did you get sick of paying Hudson licensing fees?
Just Dance 2 - NO THANKS!

THE GOOD
Mario Sports Mix - Yeah, it's YET another Nintendo sports compilation. But it has potential.
Goldeneye - Could be good like the original, could be terrible like Rogue Agent. Guess we'll see!

THE AWESOME:
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Sold!
Kirby - Sold!
Metroid - Sold!
3DS - Sold!
Kid Icarus: Uprising - Sold!
Zelda - Sold!
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn - Sold!
Dragon Quest IX - Sold!
Epic Mickey - Sold!

I'm not as impressed as you Syd.

Nintendo has multiple platforms and limited third party development. It scares me that a list of 13 games over a console and hand held is possibly all of the major titles we will see in the next twelve months.

Quality over quantity is important, but not at a pace of one game every two months per system.

Well they did promise that there would be a large number of games out at launch time.

At the end of the 3DS part, they announced full third party support. There will be Resident Evil. There will be Metal Gear Solid. There will be Saint's Row. There will be Assassin's Creed. There will be Kingdom Hearts. So 3DS will have the weight of the industry behind it. The DS also has a lot of A-List third party titles. In fact, many of the third party titles for the DS are better than the Nintendo titles.

Also GP, you do realize that this was NINTENDO'S conference, right? All the big developers have their own conferences, which is another reason you didn't get previews for any third party games outside of Epic Mickey, Goldeneye, and DQ9.

Saint's Row for the 3DS? I always wanted to play it. Now I might actually be able to.

The real question now is how many of these announcements actually turn out products.

The most impressive thing out of that list is Golden Eye by far. Mainly because we'll finally get those Rare games for the VC.

Rare isn't attached to Goldeneye in any way. It's Activision, and oddly, it will feature Daniel Craig as Bond.

But wasn't the reason that Rare didn't put any of their N64 games on the VC because of Goldeneye?

It was because Rare and Nintendo co-own either the code or the engine to Goldeneye 64, and Nintendo wouldn't authorize an HD remake of the game for the 360.

I hated Daniel Craig as James Bond so I'm not too excited for this either.

There's nothing to stop them from doing that. They could show a picture of the Halo box if they wanted.

I am excited if they truly do have third party developers lining up.

You'll have to forgive my pessimism, but you must be able to see how one could assume the only Nintendo news would come from the Nintendo conference since third party offerings have been so weak over the last few years.

Because they've been hiding and waiting for just this moment? One of the Iwata Asks segments claims that Nintendo has been experimenting with 3D since the NES days and just didn't tell anyone. The Virtual Boy didn't stop them for long.

Your pessismism is largely irrelevant to me, because you seem to be largely removed from console gaming. You own a Wii, but you mostly play PC games. In order to realistically gauge the success of Nintendo's presentation, you have to compare it against their competitors, Microsoft and Sony. As someone who is not particularly involved in console gaming to begin, your impressions largely lack the relevant perspective.

Nintendo's message was clear this year: pure fucking fan service. Look at what they showed: Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby, GoldenEye, Kid Icarus. And with the exception of the potenitally iffy GoldenEye, they all looked fantastic. Maybe they're not going to win over the Halo crowd, but anyone whose first console was a NES or SNES can't help but be intrigued by this line-up.

Despite being absent from the presentation, these are said to be real.

Rumor is that it's from an Ocarina remake but it could just be a tech demo.

I am far more excited for the OoT remake than for Skyward Sword.
The video just looked incredibly mediocre to me.
