That trailer just made me shoot a load. The sword precision is fucking bad-ass, and I love how whoever made the trailer and was playing the game for it was showing off by cutting the watermelon into pieces.

this looks pro, good thing it's coming out on a good console (ps3) after the disappointment that was the microsoft press conference

I never understood the MGS series, there's much cheaper ways to watch terrible movies.

Yea, except the story is fantastic if you take the time to appreciate and understand it.

MGS canon is acceptable. It's about on par with Mortal Kombat.

That trailer looks very promising. I hope it's a prequel to MGS4, so we learn what made Raiden into someone I actually wanted to play as =)

If you really played MGS4 to it's conclusion, than it's obvious that this is a prequel. They also pretty much described how Raiden became all cyborg ninja-like at the end of the game.

Well FOXHOUND is named after a Disney movie, so clearly Metal Gear is serious business.

i don't see how it's name being a reference to something else can make it not serious, considering there are a lot of things IRL that are references to silly pop culture

also i'm pretty much going to disagree with whatever you say about MGS that isn't positive because it's literally my favorite game series

The series has sold millions of copies, so obviously they're not some random fringe games that only weirdos like. I personally don't care for the games all that much, but I can understand how people can.

The whole supporting member and villians cast sucked. A HUGE step down from the first game, where everyone seemed essential.

yeah. There's a bunch of games that are also on the 360, sometimes done worse. Did you like waiting extra long for your GTA and borderlands expansions? Was the bonus content worth waiting over a year to get bioshock?

All of those "clone FPS" games were also on the ps3, so that argument fails. Did you have fun not being able to play Alan wake?

If you take away all of the games that are cross platform, and you're left with god of war and metal gear. Can't count killzone or resistance, because they're FPS games.
