I haven't played any video games for a good 2 or 3 months so I'd think I'd do pretty well. As long as computers and internet don't count as videogames, which my parents seem to think they do.

I could live without video games for a year with little to no problem. I would have a very hard time without a computer though.
I haven't been playing many games lately due to the large amount of time I have been dedicating to physical exercise.

Maybe then I could get on with the drawing and the writing that I so easily postpone.
Also, I'd save a considerable amount of money. That can't be bad.
I've never spent that much money on video games, until recently.
I bought 8 Gamecube games over the entire lifespan of the console, the last of which was Twilight Princess. On Xbox360 I bought 6 games from January 2008 to december 2009. But since December, I bought 11 games and a PS3. But that's mostly because of my new job taking up so little of my time and that it required me to move to a tiny rural town of about 900 people.
Also, I wasn't earning my own money until 2000, so the Gamecube is the first console I actually bought my own games for, and I only started making good money in mid-2008.
But the job I have now pays very well and I'm getting off in February 2011, so I'm taking some of the money I earned and making it last twice as long by living elsewhere.

My problem is is the internet....
I desperately want to start playing Fallout 3 again and complete it 100 percent yet I can't stop endlessly refreshing facebook, this site, and ebay. I seriously check those and like 3 or 4 sites every 10 minutes or so like I am on a crack binge.

I do contract work for the town I live in, mostly just garbage and recycling, but I've helped with mail delivery and fixing potholes and stuff.

I'd like to say I'd get something productive done. but I imagine it'd take a month or two to get myself motivated again.

I think I've played 1 game in the last 6-8 months and that was Super Mario Bros Wii, So i suspect I would have no problems going without playing video games for a year. Give me a piano and a decent amount of sheet music and i'm cool.
Catch up on TV shows, movies, and animu I missed out on, build Gundam models from time to time, work out and maybe learn a martial art, expand my musical tastes even more than it already is, ponder my future more, and hunt for a job more aggressively.
I'd still read news about games and talk about them, but playing them isn't as irreplaceable in my life as it was about 3 years ago.
I'd get to work on my programming project that I put aside two years ago.

Does video poker count as a game?

If I didn't have video games for a year I would do better in school, run every day, win state XC, make it into MIT and fulfill all my hopes and dreams. BUT THANK FUCKING GOD I HAVE VIDEO GAMES TO KEEP ME OCCUPIED! I would also probably try and find all the different kinds of porn.
