okay, I've heard stores.... rather disturbing stories and I sincerely hope that these are just indeed stories with no actual basis of truth to them
let me start by saying I envy the USA, why? you have soda pop ive never even heard of and flavored pringles that I know nothing about etc. etc.
as continental brethren we owe it to ourselves to share our fine cuisine across the border... what bothers me the most though is I've heard that the majority of Americans have never heard of Poutine... It's simple reallly you take french fries and cover them with (preferably) mozzarella cheese curds and gravy, however some places use grated cheese instead
It is the absolute best hangover food in the world and I hope its not something that only canadians eat. Its amazing and the world needs to know about this! so to those americans here that have never heard of Poutine I suggest.. Nay! I challenge thee! to go out there and make your own Poutine and eat it with red and white pride !
now give me some of this flavored soda pop ive been hearing about!
my next point is the alcoholic drink Ceasars, Im hoping again that this is just a myth and Americans nation wide are enjoying this delicious beverage, its spicy, usually made with vodka or tequila and uses clamato juice... again if you havent heard of the Ceasat... drink it and say! god bless North America!
btw im pretty hammered but I just had to share my drunken ramblings, oddly enough this is how the goth thread started

Let's assume it's a mixture of the two!

Man, I really hate poutine, lol.
Umm, we get ketchup and all-dressed flavoured chips, neither of which Americans (for the most part) get. I hear Gibson's is hard to come by down there, too. If most Americans' diet of Canadian whisky is limited to Crown, then that's really sad

<Drew_Linky> Well, I've eaten vegetables all of once in my life.

Well, the thing is, Americans aren't really into eating curds and drinking clamato, so that might explain why those particular foods never caught on here. Also, we don't really like France that much so French-sounding food might scare off people as well.
We dump just about everything else on french fries and tortilla chips though like chili, melted cheese, bacon, etc, so we definitely have "pountine-esque" fry toppings.

I know of poutine and wish to try it at some point. However, the only edible Ceasars I have heard of is either the Little pizza or a salad. I also know nothing of this All-Dressed potato chip flavor outside the fact that it's not around here.
Down in the Southern states we have stuff like chicken-fried steak, grits (more widely known as polenta--I hate the stuff), and fried green tomatoes. One thing I find amazing is that you can have a full course Southern meal without any meat in it.

I've never heard of either.
As far as I know, Caesar is that salad dressing dude. He makes a good salad.

i've had clamato and vodka. not a good mix. i love vodka, and i love clamato, so why wouldnt they both work? because mixed together, they taste like asshole.
or was it rum i mixed it with? either way, i wasnt a fan
and in the southwestern part of the USA, drunk food at 3am is usually mexican fast food. so greasy and gross. always fucks up my stomach the next morning, but at 3am it sounds like a great idea.

I just hate the word "Curds". It sounds like a fucking STD, so I will not ingest it.

Poutine is one of those foods that its GREAT as youre eating it, then you realise it was a mistake and that you'll probably have a heart attack because of it.

I've never really liked gravy and my friend told my a poutine horror story, and I have no interest in the Caesar, it doesn't look or sound or smell appealing to me in any way. If I want alcohol I'll have a beer.
I didn't realize All-Dressed chips weren't sold in the states, I like them quite a bit.

I tried poutine, it's a little bleh, but I can see why people like it. I'll take chili-cheese-and-bacon-fries over it.
As for the drink you described (forget what I've heard it called), it's pretty bad. It pretty much tastes like Tomato Juice mixed with a chemical spill. I prefer to keep it simple. Jack Daniels mixed with fresh Pennsylvania apple cider is my preferred mix.

Yeah, I don't get the curds thing either. My friends and I have a deer camp up in the UP (which, really is just Americanized Canada) that has a cheese shop-gas station-liquor store about 20 minutes away from camp. They sell cheese curds and my buddies wolfed them down, but I never really liked them at all. They're just little balls of cheese probably packed with thousands of milligrams of cholesterol.
And we have Labatt Blue and Molson Canadian, which are two of the best five beers in the world, and Canadian Mist whiskey.

I've never had Poutine, but I'll see those fries, and raise you the SoCal version. They're called Carne Asada fries, and THEY are, in fact, the best hangover food in the world.
You get them from a local, hole in the wall taco shop (some chain franchises serve them, but they are a completely inferior version.) They take really good, crispy french fries, cover them in melted cheddar cheese, sour cream and guacamole, and then add shredded bits of carne asada steak.
God bless Mexico. <3

I eat cheese curds every now and then when we go to this little cottage community, there is a place in the middle of nowhere with ice-cream cones and they have crackers and cheese curds and all that kind of thing. They're not bad but they can't be that good for you.

Cheese curds cost too much so usually we just grate a brick of Cheddar or Mozarella.
My sisters are picky as hell and it's one of the rare foods both of them actually like, so we make Poutine relatively often.

its Delicious!
as for the ceasar, for those of you mildly curious this is the basic recipe
Ingredients
1 Part Vodka
5 Parts Clamato Juice
Stick Celery Stick
Mixing Instruction
Salt the rim of a glass with ice, then add vodka and juice. Garnish with a stick of celery.
you also add tobasco sauce to it, some people use cyan pepper as well

My desire to wolf down those awesome carne asada fries went as quickly as it came the moment I read those ingredients for a Caesar. If I'm crossing an American border for food, it's looking more and more like it'll be the southern one.

I'd like to point out that to everyone claiming they're the best hangover food is wrong.
Plain Steak N' Shake triple cheeseburger
Large Mr. Pibb no ice, cherry flavor
Large plate of cheese fries
and 3 friends, all trying to figure out what happened that night.

Sorry Lem, onion rings trump fries (especially with Burger King's zesty sauce to dip)
