I'm not sure what to feel about this. I would have mistaken this for a trailer of a serial killer movie if all the names were different.

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can. |

I seem to be the only one with a negative opinion of the trailer. It seems like a pretty cool concept, but not for a MK movie.

I hope there's a Johnny Cage alt costume without the tattoo. And I hope I don't have to pay for it.

That was pretty well done, on that note, where the fuck is Liu-Kang?
Also, I loved the campy nature of the old movies, works well for a franchise such as MK.

Sure it was well done, but why does Baraka have dreadlocks, and why are Baraka and Reptile human?
I can understand taking liberties with a property to make it more translatable to mass audiences, but there comes a point where so many liberties have been taken with the original property that calling it by the original property's name is pointless.

Well it's a re-imagining taking the familiar characters and putting them the real world.

Exactly, they are trying to "Dark Knight" it.

Personally, I can't see how that's a bad thing, but then, I've always been a fan of this. When I think about consensual reality aka ''our world'', the banality of it kind of gets me down. To see these things that I've known and loved, these great mythologies, integrated into the normal, work-a-day world that surrounds me, even though I know it's fictionalized and not what I participate in, it kind of makes me feel energized and excited about the future. Like, 'some of this could be real someday'. I don't know. Maybe I put too much stock in those kinds of things.

It's just a different, fresh take on the MK universe, I can watch something like this with an open-mind.

As much as I don't care for gritty reboots that looked really good. I'm torn!
